i was at the dealership yesterday and there was a newer model silverado in there with a diesel and the tech said that the engine need to be pulled becaus of some problems with it. he continued to state that it affected silverados and sierras model year 2, 3 and 4. anyone know anything about this i am kinda curious cause i have not heard about any recalls on here , the news or the net.

I looked and found nothing.The Duramax in my opinion is one of the best diesel engines on the market.We have four 2001 dually's at work and we run the piss out of them and I mean hard,and not one of them have gaven us any problems at all.We have 6 diesel techs in the garage that have not had any work but on the heavy end road equipment.If I had my pick of any new GM truck it would be a Chevy 2500HD with the Duramax diesel hands down.Ohhh how I would love to have one.I swear I would sell my TA in a minute if I could afford one.

Don't get me wrong I love my TA and it is fast as hell but those trucks are awesome.You can tune them to have neck breaking power and still have all the function and luxury of a truck.Hell look at all the options a loaded Silverado 2500HD comes with.I would love a nice big 4x4 crew cab short box.Plenty of comfortable room for the family and the power to pull about anything you can imagine.So yeah I would do it.
