my sister has a pontiac grand prix. it has one of those little computer things that tells info about the car. it comes up and says "low oil percentage" we checked the oil and its full. we also just changed the oil a few weeks ago so it shouldn't be that. does anyone have any clue what it could be?

Its and oil change deal. I'm not sure of the complete logistics or how it resets , but that should be in your manual. When you change the oil you reset something and it watches the miles put on and gives you a percentage used amount. So lets say 3000 miles between changes and you drive 1000 since the last change it should read 66% left!! Something like that!!

Im not sure if i remember it right, but with the car off, turn it to the run position (not start) then push the gas pedal down 3-5 times quickly (it oughta flash or give some indication) then start the car.. It should reset. It is either there or in the fuse box on the drivers side of the dash.

yeah i just asked my dad he's the one who changed the oil. and he didnt reset it when he changed it. he also thought that it was that but he wasn't sure. and we dont have the manual so he didnt even know that the car did that. now we just gotta figure out how to reset it.

See if I can do this from memory. My wifes got a grand prix. With the key on but the motor NOT running press the brake pedal 3 times. The change oil light should flash for a while then stop. Turn the key off then start the car and the light should go out. Let me know if this doesn't work and I'll look it up in the manual.
