Got all kinds of money into hockey this year allready. Now to get ready for tryouts in 2 months for next seasons travel teams. Will the kids move up and cost even more, or will they stay down and still cost alot more than house leagues.

Parking brakes on the truck are gone. New rotors, rebuild kit for the parking assembly and rear pads are allready boughten.

One front wheel bearing is going or the pinion bearing is it. Cant get under it yet to pin that one down.

Washing machine died aftet 19 years which was pretty good, but replacing it was another $500.

Daughter needs to get braces, insurance covers $1000 leaving and $2800 hole.

I'm home today because I have a Trane which can be stopped, stopped!!

Been working OT the last few weeks and I hate working OT but I wanted to pay for the washer and save some money for the braces etc. But I'm home so there goes a day pays and Friday I must now work to catch up time and no OT, and that REALLY BITES ASS!!

Wake up before you call Furnace guy. Dam wasnt awake enough and now hes coming and I just looked onto the world wide web and found the answer.

If you furnace calls for gas and the gas lights and shuts off after a few seconds, the flame sensor is dirty or could be bad. You can remove and clean this end with steel wool or fine sand paper and usually does the trick. If that doesnt work the sensor is probably bad which would cost me $35 to order a new one. DAM IF THAT ISNT IT TO A TEE!!
I've had the dam thing apart I dont know how many times since I bought it and thats a cake walk to do!!

I feel ya man im already up to my ass in debt and with the new baby the bills keep adding up.I swear diapers have doubled in cost since my oldest one was a baby. And formula WOW it's a lot higher. And my baby eats like a horse instead of a human.I just recieved a ltter from my insurance company telling me my premium on the TA is going up.Damn insurance company ass holes. My health insurance cost at work went down but the copays on Rx's went up.What did cost me 15 bucks is now 30 focking bucks!!So they are gonna fock ya one way or the other. My S10 needs new brakes rotors and the whole nine yards front and back. Not to mention I still have a half built 4.3 in the damn garage that hasn't been touched in over a month. No time or extra money to finish it up.Only thing I got going good is I actually got a decent tax refund this year instead of paying in.Finally Bush has done something that is paying off for me.But that's about the only thing that's went in my favor.Just give me some time and something or someone will show up wanting money from me.DAMN I HATE BILLS!!

Anyone got a problem with a furnace and like to do it yourself, this God Fearing Southerner has the best web site Ive seen yet for the DIY furnace guy. Hats off to this site, I have it bookmarked now.

Get this, I call first thing this AM for service and was told early PM. They just called back and wanted to change it until tommorrow morning. I tell the lady I took today off cause I was up since 1am screwing with the freaking thing and I aint gonna stay home and lose pay for another day. Then I said I've had this whole dam thing apart and found this nice website that explained the problem in detail and also the guy we use for industrial heating at work called mack finally and agreed with what the site said to do. He says we have to do them every few years or so, clean them flame sensors and if that doesnt solve it I'll poke around and see what it is and let you go to that site and pick the parts up cheaper than I can get them and DIY it!! Screw her I canceled the appointment all together!!! Sir you shouldnt touch the furnace, its dangerous to do so. I said your guys learned it somewhere too right???Cant be that hard if they do it and I'm the worst person to say that too cause I troubleshoot machine problems all day long so have a nice day!!

Well, I'm going to come along and piss on everyone's parade!

Only bad things so far this year is that I've been home sick for 4+ WEEKS with wheat my doctor is calling "the worst sinus infection he's ever seen." Can't go outside without getting a severe migraine, can't breathe through my nose, voice comes and goes (I sound like Don Corleone most of the time), and I'm officially out of sick days (I'm now on Family Medical Leave -- I keep my job, but no pay). I've felt like ass since mid-December. Not coughing at all, but the sinus drainage is getting annoying and I go through a box of tissues in two days. Only other bad thing is that as of the beginning of this year, I'm further in debt. Up until now I've only had to make payments on my Cavalier (the white wagon died last summer, so I had to buy another daily driver). The house was 100% paid, my Truck is 100% paid, my wife's truck is 100% paid, and our credit cards have a ZERO balance (they get paid off every month -- usually within days of any particular purchase).

Well, we have a few things we want to do around the house (patio, siding, painting, some new furniture, etc.) so we signed on a "second" mortgage -- $60K. So, part of it went to pay off the Cavalier -- so all three vehicles are 100% paid, but the house is now in hock.

Aside from that, it's been a DAMN GOOD year, so far. The boys and the wife had a great Christmas, I had a great Christmas, and we've picked up a LOT of new toys. Got a new Toshiba 35" flat screen TV, Toshiba DVD-R/VCR combo, new Infinity home stereo/home theater set up (hand-picked, not some stupid itty-bitty package deal -- all in the Primus series, not high-high end, but they're Infinity!), new stereo in the Truck, new stereo in the Cavalier (head, 4 speakers, subs and amp), a couple mods on the Cavalier (in my sig), a bunch of new mods on the Truck (shocks, suspension upgrades, Wynjammer, gauges, etc.), new computer upgrades (new 256MB video card, more RAM (up to 1GB now), scanner, printer, wireless network, more RAM for the laptop, etc.), picked up a bunch of DVDs, a D-Link media center (now I can play all the music and movies on my computer on the home entertainment center), new entertainment center, a few additions to my Star Wars toy collection (all Vintage stuff -- NOT cheap), a few additions to my Godzilla collection, some new computer games, a new fish tank and some new fish, and a few other things here and there -- and I've had FOUR WEEKS to play around with all of it!

Overall, it's been a pretty good year -- and I hope it stays like this. Got a job offer too -- making $22/hour flat-rate doing stereo installs. Only problem is there are no benefits. Otherwise I would JUMP at it. I work outside all day, so I can tell you at any given moment what the weather is like (I'm not teaching yet -- I'm still finishing school for it).

So, sorry to hear about the bad beginning to the year, but it's been good for someone at least!

Hey s/c, get yourself some "tylenol allergy sinus". For the migrains I use BC powder, works in about 25 minutes, tastes like **** but it works. And one other thing..........sounds like you need to have a garage sale.

I already got rid of the old entertainment center and old speakers -- brothers-in-law are worth something occasionally (usually to give FREE stuff to). Still got an extra 17" computer monitor sitting around, as well as a 20" color TV (the 20" was in the bedroom -- the 27" PIP stereo TV that was replaced by the 35" is now in the bedroom where the 20" was). Got 2 VCRs I need to get rid of and a couple extra speakers here and there. And I've got a 13" color TV (was in one of the boys' rooms, but they got 2 13" TV/VCR combos) that I need to find a home for. . . Maybe the kitchen or I'll sell it.

Yeah, we've got a neighborhood garage sale (a VERY big garage sale) that we have every year -- the whole neighborhood participates, usually -- so, I'll have extra goodies to throw in for people to make me substandard offers on! "I'll give ya $20 for that 20" TV!" Um. . . NO!

As for the Tylenol Allergy-Sinus. . . Been there, done that, got the t-shirt -- doesn't work for more than 30 minutes and I'm clogged up again. I've been on 4 different antibiotics and NOTHING is working. My doctor finally referred me to an ENT. He took one look inside my head and said "Yup, there's a lot of goo in there." In my usual dry-humored fashion I responded by saying "OK -- yes, there's a lot of goo, but what about this sinus infection?!"

Things are going great for me right now. It's been a mild winter here, got my cowl induction hood and sport mirrors painted last month and my job's looking up. My down days were last fall when I had a collapsed disk and a pinched nerve in my neck. None of the prescribed pain killers did a thing. Dr. Knife took care of the problem and now I'm good as new.

For you guys on a down cycle right now, take it a day at a time, it won't last forever.

try not having a job at all and still trying to put gas in your truck and keep insurance on it.

I'm on an upswing as well. . . Things have been getting better. Last summer was my down time -- it last for almost 2 years. Nothing went right. Things started back on the upswing in October -- I'm hoping they keep going UP.

There was a point that I whenever I thought I couldn't get any deeper, someone would throw me a shovel!

It'll get better -- the year is still young.

Well, let's see. . .
Comp ate its hard drive on Valentine's Day, losing my homework, projects, business records and cad drawings of a couple ideas I had. Plus my rather extensive picture and music collection. I am now have well over 5 figures in student loans, with no sign of an end to the educational process, and to top it all off, I am just about out of booze, with no funds to aquire more. . .

Ah, the joys of college! I feel for ya -- I'm in almost the same boat with student loans. I've got my loans from my years at Ohio State, and I'm racking up even more at Ohio Dominican. . . I've spent more time in school than anywhere else. . . But, in the end, it will be worth it: a job (although not very high paying) doing what I want to do and doing something at which I accel.
