oil pressure

hey i got an 86 with a 2.8. i have a sunpro oil pressure gauge after warming up when im stopped at a light my oil pressure will be at about 18 but while im driving its at about 40 is this where it needs to be?

if you look in the gm manual it says that at 2000 rpm it is normal to be at 18....suprisingly enought on a v8 idle it is to be 8!!!! but the normal rule is 10 psi per 1000 rpm.

Different oil weights will fluctuate that number as well.

mine sits at 60 unless I'm accelerating then it goes up to 70
