Just for a little general info to all of you who actually own one of these beauties like I do. The ride is fairly rough due to a solid rear axle set-up on this suv not to mention it's light and very short so vibrations carry fairly easy. To improve this ride I simply used a PST polygraphite bushing kit, bout $100 and 8hrs of actual wrench time, high density gas shocks, preferably a dual tube if ya can swing it, and a good set of all weather highway tires, p235-75-r15's are a good size to move up to if you have the original p235-70's no change in gas usage or road noise, forget the 32 psi recommended go with 35-40, or simply play around with it till you find your perfect ride smoothness. Now to add to this if you have that annoying rattle and squeak as I'm sure some of you have ,thats an easy fix, those panels are fairly thin and only held in by the plastic cap screws, simply remove and add a layer of cut to fit 1/4 inch foam(you can use anything from sound dampner foam to the arts and crafts stuff you find at wally-mart)
To go back a little on the tires, measure your psi "cold" as in has not been moved for at least 3 hours, otherwise you get a hot reading and it will be incorrect. After a cold night outside your tire psi will drop 1 psi per square inch for every 10 degree drop, keep this in mind as you will get premature tire wear if not properly inflated.Hope this helps.

my girl has a 4 door and it rattles like a mother****er. I may use this little tip with the 1/4 inch foam to quiet it down a little bit

only my back hatch rattles and i guess thats pretty much unfixable....i always run like 37lbs in my tires and the ride changed dramatically...but for the most part my truck doesn't ride any worse then i would expect it too....if anything its better and i need shocks...lol

For that squeak I use just your good ole WD-40 on the hinges and the latch itself as this is where 90% of that squeek comes from, I have even seen guys use electrical tape on the latch eye to keep it from squeeking.

I had a squeek in my back hatch and I found that it was not the hatch or the hinges. There is a spring that helps the tailgate raise. It is at the bottom and goes under the back. I replaced the rubber cover on the end and the noise is gone.
