This is the deal.. been tinkering with this for a bit...

Dealing with a 93 GMC Jimmy, 4.3L Vortec, 4L60.
Suspension: 3" body, 2.5 Skyjacker suspension

Problem: Front CV Joints keep pulling out of the socket in the front differential. Literally pulling the entire axle out of the differential.

The issue is the angle, due to the lift kit, is too much. I do know they make high degree angle CV's, but they do not do it for the little Jimmy. I did have offset wheels on the truck, which had the tires sticking out about 2 inches. I changed that back to stock wheels, and this did help just a bit. Suspension is still a bit much and CV's are just not holding up.

Plan: Keep going higher. I want the truck to go up more. So basically, the front end needs to come out. Now.. the ZR2 question: what is sooo damn different about the ZR2 than the regular Jimmy ? That truck already has my lift beat, but I need to know why its just soo different that I can not take the front end of a ZR2 and put it under the little Jimmy?

If the ZR2 is a no way... then I am open for more options. Has anyone used a Wrangler front end on a Jimmy yet? Reason why I say this is the Jeep Wrangler has a left hand side front drive shaft.

Any ideas ??

Buy a K5 blazer and swap frames. Find one thats already lifted. Then, at the same time you will be doing a V8 swap also. Problem solved. I have a New 5" TM lift for sale also.

i think the ZR2 has a 2 inch wider front and rear ends im unsure weather its the front differential itself or longer axels ,might be worth looking into ? im sure mike or someone will know lots when they see this ! also the mounts for the rear springs and the font suespension on a zr2 have a different placement in the frame .....hope im some help

s-10's eat up front end parts whether they are lifted or not. lifts just make it worse.

Good idea but he'll need to shorten the K5's frame. Remember Tink used a K5 blazer's frame under her std cab, short bed 1st gen S10 & s10 blazers/Jimmys are shorter than that. That fit damn near perfectly under her truck.

Here's the link to her truck.. http://www.s10planet.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4496
