yes its my first time and yes it did hurt. comin home tonite and got goin down the road and the motor started cutting out. well i just thought this cant be good so i started headin for the nearest gas station. well i pulled in the gas station and as i pulled to the pump the thing cut off. i had no money, im 16 so no credit cards, and all i could do was call home. well i went with the last option just cause i wont walkin home. all in all it sucked
tough luck man. I keep a 20 hidden in my truck for that type of emergency.
same here... I keep 10 in the compartment under the cd holder (with my wires for my ipod). Only had to use it once for gas, but it comes in handy if you have a sudden craving for Micky Dees or some other place that doesnt take a card!
16... and let me guess your jobless.
I would suggest applying for a gas card and only use it in the most extream of emergentcys, but at your age your parents would have to cosign and that still no garentee on getting the card. credit is a wonderfull thing if you can afford it.
here's anoughter suggestion: keep gas in your truck. j/k seriously set a goal to keep your above 1/2 at all times. start a savings account and get a debit card for emergentcys or get a couple of $20 cash cards from differnt stations to keep them in you truck.
you thinck it's hard to keep gas in yours....
because of my job i fill up from empty 2 r 3 times a week.just to give you idea of much i drive, I bought the truck 1 year 6months ago with 12 miles I just rolled over 50K. I had a gas card soley in my name cence I was 17 and i've had a gas card cense I was 15(hardship), but my parents cosigned for it and it only had a $50 limit.

see now heres the problem with that my float is busted in my gas tank so i never know exactly how much gas i have. and yes i am jobless. lol
is your trip odometer broken?
that is how I judge it in my burb. There are no baffles so the gas sloshes around.
I can see where a busted sending unit would be a problem. I thinnck there around 200bux for your truck. i don't thinck it's your sender though. If you had an 80's model I woud say ok because you have metal floats in some of them, but 99s a bit young. if it sat up for a while it may some varnished cloging stuff up. that's nothing a couple of full tanks of super, a bumpy road and some lucas woun't fix, but more than likly you've got a bad ground.
this is something worthy of some work. worst case is you have to drop the tank and clean everything by hand.

it sat up for a good 2 months when i bought it because i didnt have my liscence yet and it didnt have tags so i couldnt drive it. so ill try to the lucas and hope that works if not it mite be hittin the shop
jedi is going to tell you seafoam, but berrymans, seafoam, and lucas are all good products for cleaning varnish.
after you do this for a couple of tanks you may need to replase your fuel filter if the tank had allot of crud in it.

you can get a little over 300 miles on a full 16 gallon tank. just keep track of your mileage and that shouldn't happen again
