Ok----- I have searched everywhere I can think of but no dice. So here goes.
Is there anyone who makes a kit to convert a 4.3 to turbo without having to round up a Typhoon\Syclone engine?
I have been able to find kits for Mustangs, Camaros, Vettes and just about every Japanese car ever built, but nothing for the 4.3 in a Blazer\S-10. What I have in mind is to build a Typhoon clone from a standard Blazer.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You are going to spend more on parts than you would buying a SY/TY. No one makes a kit for them.

TurboS10.com is still advertised in SportTruck magazine. But their site is no longer up. Kinda odd, but they do have a phone number in the magazine to call.
STS Turbo makes do-it-yourself rearmount kits. I dont think they have a bolt-in S-series kit out tho.

Thanks for the info King. I considered buying a Typhoon, but my 93 4-door that I now have for some strange reason I am really in love with. My father bought it new in 93 and I bought it from him in 97 (right before he passed away) with just over 30K on it. I have driven it ever since. I also like the 4-door option as I have 2 kids. I bought the wife a new Suburban in 2007, but I still like to take the kids out for the day in the S-10, so I guess I will stick with the 4-door.
Thanks for the links. I am still trying to figure out exactly which way I will go, so time will tell.

Well ya just never can tell. One of the links you gave me King led me to STS Turbo Systems. So I go look at their site. When I get to the bottom of the page they are located in my home town here in Utah. I don't live there anymore but it is only about a 75 mile drive for me. Their universal kit looks good.
Has anyone here on the forum used their products\set up? If so what did you think?
It is a little bit of $$$$, but it looks to be the easiest way to get into a turbo on my S-10.

Yea if I go the turbo route I will build a new motor as the one I have now has 175K on it. That is why I wanted to know the best year (of engine) to build. I will very likely score another complete S-10 to part out for the engine, trans and ECM or at the very least a complete engine and trans. This way I can take my time building the engine\trans combo that I want and not have my current rig apart in the shop for all that time.
I have only seen one complete Syclone, and that was on the Freeway one day. I would like to try to find a Syclone or Typhoon here in Utah that the owner would let me take a look at and see first hand how it all goes together. I know some people on the car show circuit here and hopefully through them I can locate one.

Autotrader.com usually has about 20 typhoons and about 10 syclones all the time. Most are on the west coast.

i talk to sts and they said they would build a custom setup if i decided to get one. said i would have to leave my truck with them and let them design one and test it, ofcourse it's free too...:D

That would be awesome!
I think by free, I think they pick up the labor and piping costs, but you are on your own for tuning and you have to buy the turbo/oil pump, but having a S10 kit available would be great!

your smoking crack dude. maybe if all the turbo parts you bought were gold plated you would be right lol
my first turbo setup was very budget and way cheaper than a sy or ty would have set me back, and it included custom MPFI. it would be even cheaper for a 96+ truck

Let's see what I am up to:
MP70 turbo: 500
PCM tuning: 800
Aeromotive FPR: 150
Lines/fittings 180
Aluminum pipe: 200
2114: 750
throttle body adapter 125
injectors 280
Fuel pump 150
Gauges 600
IAT sensor 24
Ignition 250
Silicone couplers 100
Clamps 60
Intercooler 100
That isn't including pipe bending, welding, labor... etc. Starts adding up fast doesn't it.
well see right there you have enough to buy a ty with 120k miles, an engine tick, low compression on a few cylinders and no cladding lol
