I didn't know if the older tbi's used a float after the carbs. Wonder if someone stuck a bigger # injector in your tbi?

No floats in TBIs. There was a computer controlled carb made by rochester back in the early to mid 80s.. not that any I know of made it to the S10.. they were ECM compatible versions of quadra-junks.

cross fire?

Cross-fire TBIs did not use floats. They were single injector TBI units. That's per the '84 vettes. I believe the '82 vettes used carbs.. those would have been pre-ECM so they wouldn't have been ECM controlled.

I would say injectors too....if it was carbed I would say the diaphram in the fuel pump is leaking. buttttttt its NOT carbed so leaking injector OR fuel pressure reg not holding pressure/ allowing too much pressure... another thing to check is to see if the spray pattern is good...it may not be atomizing correctly and its not burning it all causing it to puddle in the intake and on top of the pistons. then it turns back into a liquid after the engine stops running and the runs into the oil.
