Now that my tranny has been rebuilt,my service engine light came on again... I went to Auto Zone, and the rear O2 sensor coded out,
so I replaced it....I drove it around and the light comes on again... so I bought one of the scanalyzers so I could reset it,hell, it was on sale and I used a few christmas bonus bucks to buy it, anyway I turned the SEL off, thinking maybe the trucks brains hadnt realized that the O2 sensor was replaced... it came on again, except now it tells me the O2 sensor heater circuit is faulty... the code is P0141

This has all happened over a span of about 2 weeks.....

any help here is mucho appreciatedo ..... :D

This is my best guess. Maybe a wire to the O2 could of been messed up when the trans was going in? I dont know what year your truck is but on my 98 and 00 I had to remove the "Y" pipe and unbolt some of the exhaust hanger brackets and move it around to get it out. Maybe the 02 wasn't unplugged and the plug or wires were pulled on to hard? I've never had the problem so this is the best I could think of. I would check that if I was in the same situation.

Could a wire be pinched int he bell housing or in the tranny mount?

My truck is a '96 ZR2
I wouldn't think any wires are pinched,I had the truck back for a week or so before the light came on...
I bought another O2 sensor for the front today,I will put it on sometime tomorrow ...
and see what happens....
if the light still comes on,I'll take it back to the shop and have them fix it,since nothing was wrong with the O2 sensors when I dropped it off...

What brand of sensor was it? It's not uncommon for them to be crap out of the box. I had a wire grounded out in the O2 sensor circuit on my old 4runner that caused a similar problem so it is possible.

I bought the BOSCH unit....
sadly I didn't get the front one changed tonight,as I had to go get groceries... byt the time we got home it was dark

Alright.. So I just get home, crawl up under the truck,I have not two but three O2 sensors ...

There is one right off the header... one just in front of the Cat and one just after the Cat.... I'm like  ... So I replaced the one just off the header... that leaves just the middle one now...

at 52.95 a piece ... I'll have ... lets see , carry the two..

holy O2 sensor .... $158.85 if I wind up having to change the one in the middle ...

anyway,I turned my little scanalyzer on and deleted the code... if the SES light comes on again... well... it aint gonna be pretty :pirate_12

The code should tell you which o2 sensor it was.

bummer...what about a salvage yard one? most yards give don't even care to sell them, you go out an pull it yourself....even if its a temp fix.

When you pull your codes with ur scanner, does it say something like, B1S1, or B2S1, B1S2....basically a B"something" S"something"?

Most scanners will tell you that, and that is telling you that the Bank 1, Sensor 1 is the one throwing the code. This will tell you exactly what sensor you need to replace.

Well dammit .... the light is ON again ... so I goes ahead and buys another sensor,
I can't get the aggravating thing out,it goes 3/4 of a turn and stops dead in its threads.... Should I take a torch to the surrounding pipe and get it cherry hot...

this truck is NICKEL & DIMING ME TO DEATH ......... arrrgh :censored_ :censored_ :censored_

I had a very similar problem with my '96 'noma. The o2 after the cat went out and i replaced it. Light came back on after a few months so I replaced it again under warranty. The light came BACK on and said the same one was bad, AGAIN. I said screw it, drove with a lit up SES light for 2-3 months while periodically getting it erased and then it coming back. One day I went to autozone, they ran the code and instead of an o2 sensor it came back as an 0420 code, catalytic converter. I've been driving with that code for about a month now. Moral of the story, you may not have an o2 sensor problem even though the truck says you do.

Jesus, its been awhile since I've been in here.
I wanted to update you guys...I changed all the O2 sensors on the passenger side.the one in the middle had threads that were screwed up really bad, finally got it out with some serious heat, run some new threads in the bung and gingerly installed the new O2 sensor. As unbelievable as it may seem, the SES light illuminated almost immediately to the Cat being bad,WTF!!,right? ....So I replaced the Cat (and the muffler to a less aggressive tone) and so far so good..that ended the O2 sensor and SES light saga....

Since then, the truck has been very recalcitrant about starting after it sits for a day or two,got progressively worse, until it wouldn't start at all unless a shot of starting fluid was sprayed down its throat.DIAGNOSIS: BAD FUEL PUMP. took it to the shop and while they had it,I went ahead and replaced the intake gaskets(diagnosed when the transmission was down),serviced the A/C and had a new fuel pump installed...I just picked my truck up from the shop Friday...I have no idea what this has cost me until tomorrow morning when I swing by the shop with my checkbook. The mechanic wanted me to drive the truck over the weekend to test the A/C,said I could pay him Monday if all is well with his repairs....

In defense of my truck, she has 199,600 miles on her clock....
