well my 4.3 is on her last leg:frown:, the front and rear seal's are bad its pooring oil, there's water in the oil, its knocking and the valves are rattleing really bad, and i can't keep antifreeze in it.

soo as bad as it's got a friend told me to get another 4.3 from GM soo i can get a warrenty, soo i need to know where to look for another engine, because only place i know to look is gm performance parts and they don't offer a 4.3. help ?

Any auto parts store should have reman engines. I don't know what you have down there for shops. But up here NAPA does good work or Gopher makes good engines.

Most rebuilders like Jasper offer a warranty. Even On high performance.

X2, Jasper was the one I was thinking about too.

I think autozone carries Jasper. I know all the major autoparts stores carry reman short and long blocks. Autozone, Advance, Napa, and Oreileys.

x2 if your heads are still good and intake etc... get a long block and build it.

I have heard that the jasper motors are worthless.
I read a thread I think its right in this section "4.3 long block" Where a guy is talking about the jasper motors failing. Having like 4 of them and they all failed way early.
Why not have your local machine shop build a stocker for you?
Get them the motor from the junk yard and have it rebuilt? or at least freshened up maybe?

or

Yank it out and rebuild it. A set of bearings, rings, gaskets and seals would set you back about $350.

I think you mean short block ;)

Long block= w/heads
Short block= w/o heads

I know thats common knowledge to most of you guys but there are people out there that don't know that. So...if you wanted to get a new engine and you already had good heads that had been rebuilt recently or you had some work done to them and wanted to reuse them, you would get a short block, not a long block...

some rebuilders also call a long block to have the oil pan and the ft. cover on it. another question to ask if you are shipping the core back to them.
