I'm hearing a popping/clicking sound on deceleration.
Also having problems putting in/changing gears. Sometimes it happenes sometimes it works perfect

Any ideas on what could be wrong? I'm driving my girls Ranger in the mean time and hating every minute of it...

U joints? Tranny's dying? Roasting tires can sometimes do that.
are ya grindn those gears? put the azz in the air and start shaking the u'joints, then turn the rear wheels forward and back and see if you can pin point any clunks

Trounle going into gear....sounds like a clutch issue. Checked the fluid lately? How many miles are on the current clutch?

wouldn't think the clutch would pop or click when the clutch is going bad never had that problem with a t-5 yet (not doubting you mike). As of shifting into gears syncros could be bad. Does it grind while trying to go into gear? Only pops or clicks on the deceleration? none on acceleration?

also you could have busted a couple teeth off the counter shaft and or gears. But you say its not on acceleration. Not sure if the gears have a little expanding play in them upon acceleration? compared to decelaration. I've blown 3 t-5's and 2out of 3 the symptoms were clunk, poping, hard to shift in or out of. Hope thats not your problem. wonder if it could be a chiped tooth on the fly wheel? it's hard to judge what it could be w/o hearing or seein it in action.

Check your transmission oil level. 17mm Allen plug on the right side of the transmission. Park on level ground, pull the plug. Dip your finger in. Should be about level with the plug, or just below. If in doubt, change it out. I just did mine, made a world of a difference. Takes 2 "quarts" for you americans, of GM Synchromesh Transmission Fluid.

sounds like my truck, except mine pops on acceperation and deceleration....if my truck is moving in anyway, its popping, and my u-joints r new...my problem is that my driveshaft is just sliiightly bend at the rear u-joint on one of the ears i guess u call it, i dont know the correct term....u can tell bc on one side of the driveshaft, the u-joint cap sits flush with the driveshaft "ear"....on the other side, the cap sticks out quite a ways......might wanna check for this just to be sure

If you have new joints they will have either internal c clips or outer spring clips. If the mounting ear is bent the clips won't fit and the cap would be out of square to the joint.

ok, here is a couple pics, maybe u can see what im talking about, ill get better ones tomorrow...the first pic, u can see how the cap sits flush with the driveshaft ear, the second pic of the other side, look how at the top of the pic, u can see the cap sits pretty flush, but at the bottom, u can see how the cap starts to stick out and there is a gap....

Its possible that the REAR universal joint is DRY, and the needle bearings have turned to DUST. The Universal Joint then seizes up, causing one helll of a vibration on Deceleration. When leaving a light from a standing still, you will often hear a tinny "TING" sound. Sometimes, you will hear a "rotational squeek" as you begin accelerating. If so, your U-Joint is baffed.
Hope this gives you some insight.

Sorry about the delay. My job keeps me traveling. Right on about the U-Joints, as far as the clutch... it probably only has 8-10k on it.
Oh by the way.... did I ever have problems with that centerforce clutch. There is a little plastic bushing in the clutch pedal housing..... yeah I busted that twice. I went back to a stocker for now.
