there is a difference between a ricer and a tuner. a ricer is all show and no go. a tuner is someone who can make a small, 4 cylinder econbox car run the 1/4 in mid to low 13s. just my 2 cents...

Pretty sweet how they have the turbo and the turbo intake set up. That car must have a good whistle in the exhaust note!

Now I do know what the younger crowd believes to a the definition and I really dont hold negative feelings towards others pursuing power in any way shape nor form. But to us old bast*rds, rice is anything not begun its heritage within Europe, Canada and the US of A, kinda points at the Asian area!!
I try daily to get a handle on this new wave of vehicles and some are done very nicely, but this guy on my shoulder that used to root for a bottle of Jack Daniels has found a new outlet to pester me with in my ear. Its Rice you stupid old coot!!

With the turbo in the back there's more lag, and the last thing that a 4 banger needs is more lag! And having a "whistle" in the exhaust isn't a good thing!
its still a ricer, I'm sure its pretty fast which is cool. plus I dont think I would like my intake there

WTF..........Can't drive it in the rain. Doen't look too efficient, all that distance for the boost to travel, looks like it would loose some by the time it made it to motor.

Actually, the remote turbo doesnt have any more lag than a normal turbo. Im not sure how they pull it off but it is true. The remote mount turbo is a pretty good deal, because you get not turbo heat under the hood. About the Air intake, it isnt any more voulnerable than say a cold air intake on a rice rocket. The remote turbo is an awesome way to boost poweer

I know of some guys on my Fbody boards who have the Squires systems and they have time slips and dyno sheets to prove what they can do.One guys has had his on for almost a year now with no problems. And the pipe running under the body from the rear to the intake cools the boost temp down better than your average intercooler. But im just going by what their results are not my own.
rice is originaly a biker term refering to anything not a harley or custom built dresser, lowrider, hog, cafe'........ whatever as long it had a V-twin and wasn't fared to death it wasn't rice. Basicly it's domestic against import. Bikers never said the v-twins were faster, but try to get to get a chick to cream her pantys on a ninja.
cool they'er play allot of nofx on the radio

Yes the STS is just like what were dealing with , with the Wynjammer with people. Its so simplistic a new approach etc they just cant deal with the ideal its actually better in some areas. Its just cant work, or cant work that good, or its missing this and that. How does a turbo work, the exhaust speed spins the impeller to create air movement (boost). Turbo makers tell you to get the turbo away from the direct placement near the hottest heat if you can. So you place it far away, size accordingly to create enough boost, then also have a built in intercooler much better than some cumbersum one mounted on the front end someplace. Makes everything every dreamed become a reality, very simply done. But this leaves another open area, hey, water will get in the filter. Oh this is just as good since the morons calling this fact out run scoops, ram air and all configurations to draw in the coolest air they possibley can of the front end of a vehicle. Talk about water consumption, least under the car its mostly a light mist and proper placement and a shield/wrap wil cure that!
Ive been going through the same bull**** at other forums over the Wynjammer. It doesn't use oil, yeah, so, the others use oil lube to lube there internal stepup drives and used sealed bearings just like the Jammer. Ah your nuts, it lubes the drive bearings of the impeller. Oh theydo, then explain to me how and open bearing in a compressed arena doesnt turn to air to foam? Well then the cog belt is weak and will break. OH it is, better tell the industrial manufacturing sector to rid themselves of all there high torque drive units that cog belts were designed for to maintain long life, positive movement with no slip etc along with the NHRA top fuel teams that run them on 12-71 etc at 50 PSI boost and high rpms where if they used gears and or a normalish belt it would last about 2 revs under that strain. It doesnt have a FMU. DUH, I guess that fuel specialists that have repeatidly said that the stock ECM and fuel system can handle with ease 3-5 PSI of pressure as it, then with proper fuel pulse changes can handle up to 7!
There more steadfast in there ways then I am against Rice. I just myself dont like the idealism of unions which drove pricing sky high and made things out of reach so in order to make decent profits today, we go overseas for our products and leave the industrial high powered, highly skilled workers of American that are non union and always worked hard for a living hoping they still have a job while some gook that cant even say his name ,alone spell it pushes buttons for 25 cents and hour making our ****!
Heres how our definition of a ricer is. Rice is anything done that either does nothing for performance or decreases it. Like adding bodykits, wings on a fwd car, bigger rims that are way to big, exhaust kits that are way to big for the engine, adding many subs and other crap in interior. A rice burner is what I call anything that is foreign.

I don't have a problum with new tech, that STS turbo is kinda cool. However the car itself sucks!
Smell that? *sniffs* Yup, Uncle Bens
