wondering what's the cheapest yet decent supercharger i could get for my truck? i want a vortech but those seem to run pretty high in price....don't want to sacrifice performance for money just a question i thought i'd ask...I've been running a Powerdyne for almost 3 years -- two of which have been at 9 psi -- and I'm fairly happy with it. I thought about a Vortech, but I'm not keen on the idea of tapping into the oil pan and a self-contained oiling system is another $1800.00.

You could also look into the Wynjammer S/C.

But, all three of the kits available are good kits -- it just depends on how far you want to go!

SuperchargedZQ8 is right the Vortech head unit is nice and Vortech has been known for good custmer care but the fact it need's to be hooked up to the oiling system add price, complxity, and heat from the engine.

I like the Powerdyne system 9psi is plenty for our trucks there no reason to go with a high priced unit. If you want even more power then there's other mods that will help you and the Supercharger will boost those mods as well.

Maybe a used one.

Unless you can find one used, there isn't much of a chance of keeping it under $2000.

An S/C is something that you want to be VERY careful with when dealing with a used item -- abuse, missing parts, etc. I would recommend a NEW unit, personally. But the choice is yours.
