I am having serious problems with a friends truck, it is a 2000 sonoma excab it is a 4 cyl/auto. the prob is that he has drug through the stock PLASTIC gas tank. We are trying swap it over to a steel tank. We have a steel tank now and different sending unit(becuase the original unit was too big). The problem is that none of the lines fit and the plugs are different( the plugs i can change) i have 3 lines that came with the unit for the steel tank from the junkyard but one is cut, the long one that runs above the frame rail. i tired swapping the lines but only one is working out right. I now have no clue what to do or even what to order, any help would be greatly appreciated.

info that may be needed is that the stock unit, the 3 lines point towards the driver side frame rail where as the new steel tank unit, faces the passenger frame rail. Dont worry the ttruck is getting bagged soon with a raised gas tank cross member but it would be nice to atleast get it running first. and yes to clear up anything, this truck is retard low for a static truck.

layitlow probally knows how to hook up the tank. I know how, but due to safty issues i can't tell you

if he is draging his tank that plastic pos probally saved his life. I've seen too many older lowrider go up in flames because people keep the stock tank without putting grater savers on(metal shrouds or skid plates under the tank). tell your bud he may want to thinck about going with a steel tank in the stock location. It's better to be on jack stands for a little while than on fire.
Iif he's going with bags he needs to put a fuel cell between the rear frame rails anyway for clearance and saftey and he's going to want to move he vapor vent away from the sparks.
