A friend of mine gave me a new alt that he had laying around, said it went to one of his old work trucks all of which had 4.3's in them,I was comparing the 2 alternators, decided they were the same. So, the under drive pulleys that I got from Eric(ws) went on this evening.
Old alt w/ factory pulley, new alt w/ NEW under drive pulley
http://i433.photobucket.com/albums/qq56/oddball0757/underdrive%20pulleys/2008_0704underdrivepulleys0001.jpg
To hold the fan still w/ the belt off I took a large screwdriver w/ a soft handle and wedged it between the idler pulley and the water pump pulley to get the nuts off the studs for the fan.
http://i433.photobucket.com/albums/qq56/oddball0757/underdrive%20pulleys/2008_0704underdrivepulleys0003.jpg
Old crank pulley-NEW crank pulley, old and NEW tensioners.
http://i433.photobucket.com/albums/qq56/oddball0757/underdrive%20pulleys/2008_0704underdrivepulleys0005.jpg
The 3 outer bolts on the crank pulley came loose pretty easily, the one in the center was a real pita it was very tight. To hold it still I used an 18" pipe wrench to get a hold on the factory pulley,no problem. When I installed the NEW one I used an old sock between the jaws of the pipe wrench and the NEW pulley to keep from chewing the new one up.
http://i433.photobucket.com/albums/qq56/oddball0757/underdrive%20pulleys/2008_0704underdrivepulleys0010.jpg
Last was install the NEW tensioner and belt, looks like I need a shorter belt!

I just finished getting those yota E fans stuffed in the blazer, actually was'nt that bad,VERY tight though, had to put the second one in from the bottom.A bit of presidential engineering,a 5" Dewalt grinder w/ a 1/16 Metabo cutting blade, and of course....zip ties, for the temp mounting till I can find some thin material to work with.
The fans are from a 9x toyota Camry
http://i433.photobucket.com/albums/qq56/oddball0757/Parts/2008_0702Parts0002.jpg
I took the top half of the shroud and cut it so that all that was left was the top part of the rad mount and about 1/2" sticking out past the rad so that there was something to attach to,I flipped the fans around so that the narrowest sides of the shrouds were together, which put them in the middle of the rad, then trimmed the outside edges to fit, notched out on the driver side for the top rad house and at the bottom for the frame and rad mount, sorry before/after trimming pics.Drilled holes for temp mounting to try and figure out how to mount them so it looks less presidential!

I've been gathering parts up for a while so I took the time today to put some of them in.I pulled the upper plenum off to get to the distributor and check on my spider.I installed the MSD pro billet dizzy,I cranked it over until the rotor was pointing at the firewall before removing it to make it easy to drop back in w/ a new cap and rotor .
http://i433.photobucket.com/albums/qq56/oddball0757/msd/DSCF0005.jpg
While I had the upper plenum off I installed the EGR restrictor plate.
http://i433.photobucket.com/albums/qq56/oddball0757/msd/DSCF0006.jpg
http://i433.photobucket.com/albums/qq56/oddball0757/msd/DSCF0007.jpg
Had minor clearance problems, but nothing a large file couldn't fix.I used a file because I didn't want a lot of aluminum floating around w/ the intake open, about 10 min w/ A Nicholson Pipeliner and it fit nicely.
http://i433.photobucket.com/albums/qq56/oddball0757/msd/DSCF0010.jpg
http://i433.photobucket.com/albums/qq56/oddball0757/msd/DSCF0012.jpg
New plugs,AC Delco platinum's,I usually use Bosch but thought I would try the Delco's.There was nothing wrong w/ the Bosch plat +2's that I took out.Anybody want'em?lol.BTW.After removeing the cruise control and dropping the steering shaft, about 15 min work, this was the easiest spark plug change I ever did.
http://i433.photobucket.com/albums/qq56/oddball0757/msd/DSCF0018.jpg
Old plugs.
http://i433.photobucket.com/albums/qq56/oddball0757/msd/DSCF0014.jpg
I just finished building/installing the wires. The MSD wires come w/ their own strip gauge which you use a single edge razor blade with and the crimper is built into it.it says to use a vise on the crimper but I made do with a bar clamp, kind of a pita but works well.Have enough stuff left over to probably build a set of wires for 4cyl.
http://i433.photobucket.com/albums/qq56/oddball0757/msd/DSCF0017.jpg
CAI is Spectre, not quite finished yet.Thinking about roughing it up and painting it blue, not crazy about the shiny stuff, opinions?Since I no longer have an air cleaner box I got one of those little breathers to go on the driver side, could not find one that would just push in so I had to do a bit of presidential engineering. You can just see it behind the oil filler.

Well the new fuel pump, screen, and fuel filter are back in wasn't that bad....after removing an extra bolt that held the fuel lines to the frame, which can be removed from the ds rear fenderwell. After putting the three little bolts back in that held the filler neck in place, reconnecting the vent tube to the tank and reconnecting the little rubber line back to the tank and reinstalling the 2 mounts under the tank using the 2 bolts towards the front, removing that one bolt from the fuel line bracket on the frame gives just enough mavement to the fuel lines that you can screw the fuel lines together w/ one hand and w/ the tank sitting on the mount bolted up front lets the back of the tank hang down w/ just enough angle to get both wrenches in there to tighten them up.I'm sure most of you have figured out your own way to do this but this worked good for me.Didn't get a chance to see if it was going to run.No gas,no gas can to get gas,and had been drinking Guinness,She'll still be there tomorrow no need in taking any chances w/ the little pigs!

What pump did you buy Ricky? Here is a pic of the box it came in.The guy at OReilys had 2 of them out there and this is the one he said would work.IDK.Pretty disappointed right now....

Things went well today.Bob and I went out to the pad and picked up the blazer and carried her over to the back bay of the shop so that I could do surgery on her.I decided to take Eric's('lanche) advice, and cut a hole to work on the fuel pump.I did this with the tank still under there.
Something to cover the tank with while I cut on the floor.
Just enough room to slide that between the lines and the floor.
http://i433.photobucket.com/albums/qq56/oddball0757/gas%20tank/DSCF0068.jpg
Next is laying out the cut lines for the hole, which I made 12"X16".The Guinness is so that if you screw up you have an excuse!
http://i433.photobucket.com/albums/qq56/oddball0757/gas%20tank/DSCF0066.jpg
http://i433.photobucket.com/albums/qq56/oddball0757/gas%20tank/DSCF0070.jpg
I cut the hole with a grinder with an .045x5" cutting wheel. If you use these make sure you wear your safety glass AND a face shield and DO NOT crowd those blades to hard they will shatter.Take your time and let them do the work.
http://i433.photobucket.com/albums/qq56/oddball0757/gas%20tank/DSCF0071-1.jpg

I framed the hole in with 1/8X 1"flat bar.I welded these in with mig and.035 wire, which is kinda big for this application.I just put a lot of spot welds on each end and welded all I could going across between the ridges, then cleaned them up with a Tiger disc.

http://i433.photobucket.com/albums/qq56/oddball0757/gas%20tank/DSCF0079.jpg
The door has to have a little over an inch cut off each end of the brace on the on the underside to clear the frame it sits on(flat bar),I also ground a little extra off the ridges to give a little extra room for the welds.

http://i433.photobucket.com/albums/qq56/oddball0757/gas%20tank/DSCF0082.jpg
I drilled holes in the valleys of the door to make it easier to drive the self drilling screws to hold it down. Then used some tape to seal the seams with.

They pop up often. Apparently the Vette guys don't like the looks of them. You can get a real good deal on the as long as you're patient and watch the shipping costs. Make sure you take into the count the cost for spacers. You will need to run spacers with those wheels on a 2wd. 2.25" minimum I've heard with the 2nd gens. Probably the same with a 1st gens. I'm not sure.

C5 Vette wheels (aka wagon wheels)Well I got a set of C5's today 17x8.5 and 18x9.5,like you said.268$ shipped. From what I have read I will need 2" spacers for the front and 2.25-2.5" spacers in the rear, again, like you said.I also used the search button and this seems to be pretty much what everyone is using.may take a while to get them put on since now I got to get the spacers and tires for them.Which first, tires or spacers?

I would say maybe tires first... That way you can get the size you like, test fit the wheels w/tiers mounted and know exactly what size spacer you want to run. I think that's what I'd do.

Well, the headers are in.....FINALLY.....this was the hardest install I have ever done! The ds was terrible.I had that one in and out 3-4 times.1st time I put it in the cut out for the knock sensor was not big enough, took 2 tries with the die grinder and a burr bit to get that.the next thing was the tubes were bent so tight at the flange that I could not even get a bolt to start, again, die grinder and a large teardrop burr to open the hole up to get a bolt in it.Once the header was in I had to start that bolt first.Half of the bolt on the ds had to be tightened with an open end wrench, still not sure I got that one on #3 tight!Since the steering shaft was on the outside of the header rather that going through the header it rubbed hard enough that you could hardly turn it,no problem BFH,fixed.Bracket behind ps pump in the way, remove front of engine or cut it off...cut.Knock sensor took a beating, literaly!

Duals out the side w/ just mufflers.. 2.5" tube or you still thinking full exhaust? After it made a little temp,it was idling kinda fast, which is a switch!I'm not sure which way to go on the exhaust.I'm not a big fan of duals out the side.I would like to use an H and exit under the bumper, but the gas tank screws that up.IDK.I don't like the idea of putting headers on and then running a single exhaust.BTW,when I cut the cat off,I assume it was the cat, empty.Nothing in there, just a shell that looked as if it had never had anything in it.Is there something else they put under there in the exhaust besides the cat and the muffler?Stupid question I know, but,WTF I'll ask any way!lol. My apologies for the f bomb!

Ok,well the exhaust is put back together.I went to O'Rielys yesterday and bought a couple of 2.5" 90*s,a couple of 2.5" 45*s and a couple of 2.5" straight sections. My original intention was to build a 2.5" straight through cat which I got all cut up and ready to weld and realized that the way I planned on building the "Y" pipe did not leave room for that,so I just deleted the cat, hope they don't look for it when I go for inspection!Going to look around for a smaller one and just move it and the flowmaster back further if need be.Here are some pics of the cat.

I made my own "Y",Didn't think I could make it flow any worse than the factory pipe!Anyway....I was short one 90* bend so I had to cut up the factory "Y" and use part of it for the driver side.Since these are long tube headers you cannot go in front of the tranny pan,you have to go around it,I used the bend from the the ds that goes across to tie into the ps to do the same thing again except it comes around behind the pan and between it and the cross member, kind of a tight fit. Then I used a 45* to turn Back towards the rear.I used another 45*os the ps to got to the 45*.I put the collectors on loosely so the could still be moved, but tight enough to stay where I put them.I put the factory 90* on with the 45*on it,then slipped the ps 45* on the collector, then where the 45*s overlapped I marked them with a black marker took the down and trimmed them with an .045 cutting wheel. This took 3-4 times to get them close enought to the diameter that I wanted,2.5",before I could tack them.Once I got them cut and tacked up I tacked everything behind them then took the whole thind down and mig welded it on the table.
This is the mock up before the first cut.
http://i433.photobucket.com/albums/qq56/oddball0757/y%20pipe/DSCF0189.jpg

Tacked up on the table and ready to weld.

http://i433.photobucket.com/albums/qq56/oddball0757/y%20pipe/DSCF0192.jpg

For the next piece I use the 2 90*s.I bolted the "Y" back in place took one of the straight sections and cut it roughly in half to hold the muffler in place and get an Idea of how tall the offset was going to have to be.then I took both 90*s,held them up there together so that they were facing opposite directions and marked them so when I cut them there was about 1/2" gap between them.I used the bell off of the straight section to make a coupling out of.This is where I connected everything together since it was fairly open area to weld in.Once the 90*s are cut up you have to fit it to your first piece.

Cut,fit up and tacked.

Oh,and DON'T forget the o2 bung like I did,you have to cut it output the bung in then weld it back in!AND,be careful where you put it,I had to cut the pigtail off and mine and make it longer!

Thought about that myself, I can get the hydro lines made local for cheap. Then I won't feel the need to replace the rest to make it match.

When I dropped mine I measured before and after. But it was all for no reason because by the time I measured the after I had forgotten the before....

As the springs get broke in it will lower a little more. You probably didn't get a full inch out of the springs. My 3" springs after a short while gave me another 3/4" drop. When I first did them the front looked and felt a little high.

I think it depends on how long the seller states it will take him to send it... but there is more info listed here:

The other thing is that if you need to file a claim through paypal, there is a certain time window that you have to be able to do that. I think you need an a recent transaction on your account to get more info on that, but here is some of the basics

easiest way to measure sway bars is with a crescent wrench. Put it on the bar and tighten it up then pull it off and measure that. Our bars are measured in mm. I think first gens had anything from 25 to 35 in the front, just depends on the options.

Well as you can see in my avi the 4dr has officially become a parts blazer.Have spent part of yesterday and today(got rained out) removing the front clips so I can swap the 93 front onto the 87 and get the left over 87 parts ready to relocate to colder parts of the country.going to pull engine and tranny pretty soon.Got to try and get the 4dr stripped pretty quick,I need her parking space, bought a '94 GMC Safari XT today good engine, cold air,hot heat, nice interior,4 new tires, and a bad tranny.200$ and a new,but cheap,Wal Mart battery. No,I am not going to tinker with it,put a tranny in it and drive it,THEN i can REALLY get down to what I really want to do with the blazer.BTW,are those AWD?Lee mentioned that it could possibly be AWD,I don't know anything about them.

It takes me a while to get things done, but eventually they get done, the front clip swap is no exception! So far the only difference I have found in the two front clips is minor differences in the core support, the grill from the 93 wouldn't go on the 87 core support for lack of certain mounting holes missing.I could have modded it and made it but saw no need with having the one that fit correctly with all the right holes.Swapping out core support, fenders, grill, hood, cowl(thing under the wipers),bumper, doors, and tailgate.Going to add the hid's,and flexalites, and possibly add the msd coil and 6a box.Anybody notice I didn't mention inner fenderwells?Pics.

Ok I gots pics, got distracted, had to stop and take pics of the loading operations of a vessel we are sending to Egypt.I thought I was going to get by with not having to change the core support, not so.Tho 93 grill did not fit the 87 core support very well, the 87 did not have some of the holes the 93 grill need to mount up.I changed the core support, both fenders, both doors and hood.Going to use the 93 bumper and plastic thing under it(need a new one of those).Ran all the wiring for the front end inside the ds fender and stashed the leftover plugs for the cruise control in there too.Next up will be ac delete, possibly look into moving the rad into the space the ac condenser was taking up,relocate battery behind passenger seat where back seat is right now, locate non ac heater box.Just working on things that don't cost anything or very little right now until things start picking back up again.Ok pics.

You'll probably get your UCAs before I get mine (I ordered them at the end of November)!End of Nov. !WTF!You are just over the border, not half way around the fvckin world! They told me about 2 weeks for mine. Not sure if they are or not,it just says pre-order,get you name on the list.Hope I ordered the right ones(uca's),Talked to Tony Told him what Eric told me and he looked up what Eric ordered and that is what I ordered, like I said I hope I got the right stuff.Just going to go to the parts house and buy the C10 uppers and order the tall lowers, just tryin to make sure before I spent 85$ each on the wrong parts. Thanks Tyson.

They messed up my order at UB so hopefully they'll arrive soon. If I need to change my lower ball joints I want to get the tall versions and I don't have much confidence that PPM is going to release them any time soon. They've had that pre-order out forever and they keep pushing them back 2 months at a time. They were supposed to be out last summer!

Well, not a lot to update, but I'm working on it.I don't get to get on much any more so here is what has been happening to Rick lately.

4.2.02/1.60 stainless Manley valves and bronze guides.
http://i433.photobucket.com/albums/qq56/oddball0757/Mistress/389.jpg
5.Bought a complete long block(non balance shaft),this is the block and crank I am going to use for my engine. The pistons, connecting rods, and cam from this engine will go into the '98 block along with the old style heads, buy a 2111 Edelbrock to top it off.Yhe only thing fancy in that engine will be the CompCams push rods and CompCams full roller rockers(Thanks Chris). This engine is for someone else, which buys me a complete wrecked 98 or 99 454 1 ton dually. My engine gets the afore mentioned heads with 1.6 CompCams ultra pro magnum full roller rockers, beehive springs, retainers, and locks.Pistons will be 10.5:1 forged flat tops with 6" H beam rods, fully balanced, and cross drilled.Going to try and go pick up the 1ton next weekend if I don't have to work.Cam...I guess we will never know how the 266 runs because I'm going to have it reground to a small base circle, with the 1.6 rockers it should come out to be about .575 on the lift and a bit longer on the duration, may have to play with the push rod length a little. And sprayed,100-150 shot.
6.Bought this just because it was cheap 150$

Anthony-IDK,but for 150$ I couldn't just let it sit there!Thinkin 12v Cummins(again),if it is a complete Dodge drive train it may not be too hard,it's hard to tell about those old things.Depending when it was made, there is no telling what kind of parts they threw together to build that truck, then again, may just throw a basically stock 318 in it,rv cam, electronic ign.,an Edelbrock w/ some kind of a 600cfm carb and call it good.

Again,not much of an update,but here goes.Heads are done,those are the 98 vortec heads(400$).
Took my 98 balance shaft engine to my engine builder had it bored .30 ,bought an early model non balance shaft long block with a .10/.10 crank kit.
Had him tear it apart and use the heads, connecting rods and pistons with the 98 block and kept the .30 over non balance shaft for engine #2.
The heavier early model crank will be easier to work with when it goes out for balancing since the rod throws have not been hollowed.Hopefully it wont have to be welded on,just drilled or the balance job goes from 150$ to 300$.
The 5.7" H beam connecting rods(450$) should be in any time, was going to use 6",but he was concerned about the reciprocating weight,so we stay with 5.7".I believe he said they were Mahle rods.
Pistons will prolly be KB's.
So far having the heads built, buying a long block, having it torn apart, having the 98 torn apart, bored and put back together I'm at about 1500-2000$ on both engines.Pics.
.30 over,CompCams 1.52 full roller rockers(thanks Chris),stock length CompCams pushrods,oe cam.

Ok get money order today,in the mail Monday,c5 calipers be here in a couple of weeks, that's the plan(thanks Persio).Still looking for ls1 rear calipers and abutments....anyone?Run over and see my engine builder tomorrow, see how things are going.I know someof you are going"WTF is takin that guy so long"I'm getting a pretty good break on the labor by waiting on him to take care of his more important customers, meaning he is doing mine in his slow time,no big deal.I have more frontend parts to get so I can rebuild it while the engine and front clip are out/off.I know I've said this somewhere before but I'm bored and drinkin guinness.Gotta go look for steel 1st gen rocker arm covers.

Why'd you decide to go with the delrin over the steel?

Here is a post from my build thread on pts10 that pretty much helped make up my mind, made sense to me...
"lower bushings I'd go with delrin. Steel is fine for the uppers, but delrin will have just a little bit of give on a really harsh hit that may help keep something from breaking. Avoid poly unless you don't mind getting under it every two to three weeks to grease them. Poly will bind if it's dry. Delrin, depending on the grade, is self lubricating, you could technically do without a brass bushing against the bolt, but you're better off with. If you can get a hold of some, the bolts with zerks and grease passages would be helpful for greasing the brass. That combined with a press in delrin bushing will mean all the rotation will be done in greased brass against steel, and the delrin will just handle lateral loading."

Well,I moved both blazer back home again so I could work on them.removed the back seat and seat belts to make room for the batteries and amps, more on that later.I ordered a new oil pan, timing cover and bolts, mid mount alternator bracket, and a set of valve cover, undecided on which electric water pump to use.I pulled on of the steel valve covers off for a test fit on engine #1 with the 1.52 rockers on it,no good.If it won't clear those it wont clear th1.6's.........SO,as I see it here are my options:
!.A set of these.
http://aussiespeedusa.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=1&category_id=2&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=2

3.Bust my damn tig rig out and build'em my damn self!they only cost like 23$ a set for the stamped steel, buy 2 sets and make one out of them!

Sometimes....I REALLY wonder about you guys<shakes head>
Ok,first thing I got to do is talk with our machinist, and give him one of the steel covers so he can make a copy of the mating/gasket surface out of plate to accept the thick rubber gasket that those covers use,1/2" plate, that way after the welding they can be put back on the mill and trued up again to remove any warping that will occur.
2 piece, internally recessed flange with a removable top?I think so,that way if I screw up on the bolt holes I only have to scrap the top and not the whole thing.
So when the new set get here I give him one of them for a pattern, and go fron there.I checked yesterday and there is a local store(Atwoods) that has assorted small sheets of light gauge steel that will be perfect for a project like this. This should be interesting.

Just came from the machine shop, engine is all buttoned up,valve covers and all,so,the stock valve cover DO fit over the ultra pro magnum rocker arms with some trimming in the bracing on the inside of them, finish paying that up and next comes the trans, while trying to get every thing figured out for the front end and brakes while all the sheetmetal is off.

I have the Zexel and 3.73's.I'm going to put the zexel in for sure, not so sure about the 3.73's though. My engine builder made a good point the other day.I am getting rid of the 700r for a th350,no more overdrive. So the th350 with the 3.73's would keep the engine wound pretty tight most all the time,AND,I would have to go through the whole setting up the gears thing vs. just swapping in the zexel and putting the shims back where they came from for the 3.42's.Any thoughts on this?

Went and picked up my engine today, bolted the JBA's to it,had to see what they looked like on it,taped off all the holes and shrink wrapped it,going to get the th350 out and ready to got to the shop this week. When it comes back it should have the converter with it(3200 stall) and have the mid length tail shaft on it,that way I won't have to change the drive shaft,at least that is what I am told.New Holley will be here Monday.Still several things to get :
1)New radiator, going to have to modify the core support for that though,I believe the one I am going to get is about 3" taller than stock.
2)Manual steering box
3)Manual Master cylinder
4)Make a decision on what shifter to use with the th350
5)Finish gathering the parts for the c5 swap.Tried calling Flynbye and emailing and got a response to neither.Fuk it, I'll go somewhere else.
6)Engine mounts, may try building those,Was going to buy the Baja Customs, rethinking that after the problems DOJ had with them.
Other than the engine mounts none of the above will stop the installation of the engine and trans, but am going to hold off because much of it will be much simpler without the engine in the way, such as the brakes, control arms/bushings/ball joints, yall get the picture.I'm sure there are things that I am forgetting but that is more than enough for right now, still got to get the blinkers fixed on the 88 so I can get it all legal. ANYWAY,pics.

Doubt you will find better out there.Really all I want from Flynbye is the hubs, but I think our machine shop is up and running.I'm going to talk to our machinist and see if he can turn the rotors off and make me a set of hubs out of the rotors I have,Eric sent me the the measurements on how to have them cut.If he can cut them down you want a set,I got plenty of rotors!I have no problem modifying crap right out of the box,I have the whole front clip off(just finished removing it 30 minutes ago) so it won't be that big of a deal,I don't think those are made for a 1st gen any how,but they will be when I get finished.I gotta learn how to run a Bridgeport,we have some very thick chunks of A106 out back.

Well at $115 I might just be able to get my own one day. Maybe in the far future I'll do a e-fan/e-water pump all at the same time. Probably do a Alt upgrade while I'm at it I guess. Sound like a future product to me. Now off to find that part # I said I'd find that I forgot all about.....:o

Just the zexel,keeping the 3.42's.

So all you really need is Carrier bearing part numbers and maybe axle seals if they're leaking. One sec...I'm digging right now. I'll have it in a sec...or minute..or 5...:)

Yeah, using the th350 so no more od,3.42's should keep the rpm's up pretty high as is.Going to do all the bearings and seals since I am going to have it apart anyway.

If you end up changing all the bearings and seals then you'll have to set up pinoin depth and everything that is involved with changing gears. So it's either a lot of work or more money you have to pay someone to do it for you. I personally wouldn't spend much on a rear that might not hold up. I'd just get carrier bearings/races and only change the other stuff if it's needed.

I ordered this kit way back when I thought I was going to install the 3.73's. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/MGR-R75GRMKT/

IDK yet what just the part# for the bearing is. I thought I had it some where but I can't find it...still looking though. I do know you could just go right down to auto zone and get them. Don't go to Advanced. They don't have Timken bearings.

If you are going to do all that especially to a 7.625 rear use a SOLID PINION SPACER instead of the crush sleeve/spacer gimmick.

I got one I can send ya. I also got part of and install kit. But IMO, if you're gonna dump money into a rear, might as well be one that is going to hold up to a lot of abuse.

That why all I did was throw a $100 Zexel in mine and called in a day. If I start getting real serious, I'll get a 8.5 Gm, 12 bolt GM, 8.8 or 9" ford.

I here you can shorten a 8.8 explorer rear easy. Not sure but I think only one side needs to be shorted because the diff is off center. That's only if you really want it to be the same length your 7.65 is. I've seen a lot of guys just bolt them in there the way they are.

I'm sure it wouldn't cost anymore to have a 8.8 shorted, and the axles drilled for a GM lug pattern then it would to mess around building a 7.65.

oddball
07-07-10, 07:41 AM
I agree.May go over to the bosses house and measure the 9",I'll never know if I wait on him!lol.I think I'll pull the one out of the 93,put the zexel in it,and like you said, call it a day,see how well it holds up.

firefighter
