two problems with my s10 that has mechanics in my po dunk area lost.

first..
on my '02 xtreme 4.3, when the engine is at operating temp, coming off a stop light with regular acceleration, i get a chatter from what sounds like between the cab and bed right around 21-24oo rpm. which would be right around where i shift. the noise is constant if i am traveling down the highway at 75-80 with 3k rpms. the mech's here so far are stumped and tell me to just turn the radio up louder and it will go away.

second..
while coming around corners, in second gear, i can give about 2/3 gas and right when i get to 32oo rpm my truck starts to cavitate slightly, tach needle starts sweeping back and forth. it reminds me of hitting the rev limiter at 51oo rpm. i know giving that kind of load it can reach a higher rpm. this just started happening after i raced a Scion XB.

any ideas or suggestions would be great. its getting annoying not having a mech around here that knows what they are dealing with.

Have them put a drive shaft isolator "basically 5 big o rings that go at various points on the shaft". on and see if that makes the sound go away.
