I will contact them and see what I can find. I dont know much about them but I can look for excessive wear or damaged parts. Anything else in particular you would like me to look for?

Check to see if the impeller has contacted the case of the headunit - if it's worn out you should be able to see where it's scraped the housing. It should also turn freely with little/no effort but not have any play. Vortech's have an oiling system too so you may want to check for signs of leakage.
