GM should have put a little more thought into the styling of the GTO. When I first heard that the GTO would be back I just couldn't wait to see one. What a dis appointment. It looks just like any other car on the road. With a name and history like GTO GM should have made a car that would stand out and match the performance.

i'm with mike92S10...the GTO was a huge disappointment...horrible styling, overpriced...when i see the GTO before i know its a GTO my mind runs a scan on the SunFire, the G6, the Grand Prix, the Grand Am, and the Bonneville, before I'm able to determine oh..its the GTO...they all look alike to me. sure a 6.0L v8 with 400&400 is cool...but not worth 32gs...maybe 28...
cancel it...and take it back to the drawing board...thas vas i says...

GM has always said that the new GTO is a look to the future not the past. However there will be a redesign in 2007.

I hope the designers have learned a lesson. Whether yesterday, today or tomorrow GTO is a name that when you see it on the road you should say WOW a GTO.

I'm trying to save up the money to buy one before 07. I absolutly love those cars. I'd buy one tomorrow if I could find someone to buy my truck off me.

What would they cancel the GTO for?! They come out with the GTO, then a year or two later, they cancel it? If they decide to, that would be a very bad decision on their part, think of all the money they spent on designing and producing it!

The current bodystyle was never meant for a long run. It was a deal that was very quick and easy to put into production. Almost all of the development costs were already paid for when they built the Monaro. They took a car they were already making, put some Pontiac styling cues, and made the necessary safety and emmision modifactions to pass US inspection and bam, they have something to run until they get the actual GTO or F-body going again.

They actually didnt make all the changes nesseccary to achieve US safety and emissions. It was so close to the Grand Prix platform, the Federal goverenment allowed it under that cars umbrella of testing etc for passage! GTO was never tested and it takes a 2 year average to be passed!
