the shocks on my '99 X are shot. Any sug. for good replacements or what to stay away from?

get some kyb gr2 shocks. Very good ride for non-adjustble shock

I've got a set of the Edelbrock Performer IAS shocks (front and rear) on my ZQ8 (same basic suspension as your X) and I like them quite a bit. They are a bit firm, but they don't ride too rough and handle nicely.

What kind of a ride do you want? Edelbrocks, Toxic, Belltech are frimer shocks for better handling. Kyb, Bilstin, Komi, and most of the other name brands are softer for a better ride. Or you could get a set of adjustable shocks, If you go with adj I'd recommand QA1.

I want some thing prety close to stock ride. I think I'll look into the adj. kind. I like a stiffer ride, but it make my wife complane that its to bouncy
