Hey guys I am installing a Comp Cams 266 tonight and I have a question about the exhaust. I currently have the Brute Force air intake, Magnaflow muffler, and power pulleys and plan to add headers (probably JBA).

What should I do with my exhaust? I thought about going with 2.5 inch for the y pipe and remove the precats but keep the regular cat. What would you guys do? Anybody have similar mods and have had luck with their choice of exhaust? Is the 2.5 to big? I heard it is good for 200 to 250 hp.

Any help is appreciated, thanks!

I'd ditch the precat and do 2.5", it's not too big. Should be a nice kick in the pants with the bigger y-pipe.

Cool, thanks for the reply! Do I have to worry about the dreaded SES light after ditching the precats or should I be fine?

Thanks again. I was planning on keeping the magnaflow, will everything behind the cat be ok the way it is?

Dogs of June, did you run headers or stock manifolds? Did you do your y-pipe and exhaust seperate from your other mods? What are your opinions on what you had done and what would you have done differently if anything?

Those cameos are sharp trucks, there is one that runs around here that looks brand new still.

Thanks, I will probably post a thread on the cam after I get a little ride time on it if anyone is interested.
