i love to hear different peoples exhaust systems...anyone else got sound bytes. if you got a digital camera capable of recording video w/sound its pretty easy, you can import the movie into an editor and covert it to an mp3 minus the video so the file will be small. i got this one by placing my camera under my truck and just turning the key...what do you think....

come northerners...get out in that snow...:headphone

Ok now I have my S10 and TA exhaust clips resized to smaller MP3 files to be 56k friendly. That and it gave me a reason to rev the hell out of my car this late at night lol.Anyway im gonna remove all the rest of the posts to get this thread back on track.I used to different methods to record each vehicles exhaust and would like to know which recorder sounds the clearest. So which one do you guys think sounds the best.Oh and sorry I whored your thread up so bad JROD.

Besides having the Y pipe crimp enlarged it's just a 2 1/2 exhaust with no cat in to a Flowmaster 40.Then just a little over a foot of pipe enlarged at the tip from the 2 1/2 to 3 inch dump. You would be suprised at what just taking the cat off will do to the sound.Night and day difference in the way it sounds.I took the cat off after I done the rest of the exhaust and it made a VERY noticeable sound increase.

Yeah in KY they don't test emissions, atleast not yet.I ain't gonna start a cat or no cat thread but mine runs and sounds better and for me it works out great.Headers are on my next to do list.Maybe I can get it to sound just like a V8 with some good headers.I wish it ran like it had two more cylinders lol.

Which sounds better? That's a hard one to answer. . . The TA sounds awesome -- definitely a V8 under that hood! But the S10 sounds equally good. I've been trying to get that sound out of mine for 4 years now! Doesn't sound like a Flowmaster, though. . . I'd say they both sound great.

HOly crap maximus! that S10 sounds insane
i wonder if there is any chance i could get my 2.8 (i mean 8.2) sounding like that!

I think im going to re work my exhaust now. Run a single flow 40 then twin 3" boom tubes out the back with no cat...damnit yours sounds awesome

I'd say they both sound great.Im telling ya fellows nothing special except having no cat and a short piece of pipe coming off the muffler. The 2 1/2 pipe is enlarged at the end to 3 inches and I forgot to mention the 4 inch chrome tip at the end.The only reason I enlarged the tail pipe to 3 inches was to use the chrome tip.It really helped the sound get a little more throaty.I can take pics if anyone wants to see it but it's nothing special.I welded it all up myself redneck style and that's the sound I got.The TA on the other hand has been a work in progress. The Magna Flow muffler really even the tone out to a nice rumble I think. But thanks for the comments fellas.

DUDE!!! Maximus, that exhaust sounds awesome!! You said all you did was take out the cat and put a flowmaster on it?

Yeah and I took out the Y pipe section that was crimped from the factory and welded back up a piece that wasn't.I also used 2 1/2 pipe from the Y to the muffler and from the muffler to the exhaust tip. Here is a pic of the kind of tip I used.It also made a decent difference in the tone. You can pic them up at any muffler shop which you probably already have them they are that common. But it did mellow out the tone.

if i had another car i could drive...i think i could get away with taking out the cat...but since its my daily driver cain't do it...but that does sound awesome. though my 40's are nice enough for now...still settin off alarms when i crank it in the morning or in a parking garage... :-)
