Another Car Show Rant

I know that a while ago there was a lot of ranting on American Hot Rod, and also Pimp My Ride. Whie that was justified, I think that we have left one out. Horsepower TV on Spike. Now you might be saying Tom, wtf? While I not only hate the horrible writing on this show, with the relentless puns that are worse than a thirdgrader on a plaground, but also how these guys have lost all touch with reality. This is what happens when you have a bottomless budget. They put top notch products on a new car every week, they dont teach any tuning, or show any buildups of cars (other than the Nova, but even then, it was the same thing) This show has turned into nothing but a big commercial for Edelbrock, TCI, etc....... Cmon guys get it together and realize not everyone can afford a 6000 dollar trans, custom 9" Rear, carbonfiber drive shaft etc...


Just this morining, they had a big block chevelle that pushed 400 horse. They were like, hmm, lets blow it and fuelinject it. Grrr, work with what you have, dont be one of those pretty boy wanna be racers that just throws as many parts as they can afford on it.

I've never seen the show ( don't have the cable or sat anymore) but if it's just throwing money at a car, thats sad ... I like the shows where they go through the whole process of one install of a part. Hell, I'd rather watch them put on a bugsheild for 1/2 hour than see a bunch of before/after shots of turning a 72 nova into a top fuel dragster.

I quit watcing most of those shows. I also dabble in woodworking ocassionally. And just like those shows you've got to have $50,000 in tools just to start.

Good show, only problem is that they don't go into detail enough on how they do something.

I love how they say"and this MPI Edelbrock system will only set ya back a few thousand bucks".Im like wow is that all were is my check book and the phone because that's a steal.I just wanna slap the **** out of them.And oh my god the stupid ass jokes those two morons tell.They even added the kid to try and throw in some young appeal but he's just as big a dumb ass as they are.They were down here a few times last year at our monthly Somernights cruise here in Somerset KY.It was great to get our small town on TV and the awesome show our town puts on every month.But I would rather see some other car and truck show celebs show up.Like Stacey from Trucks or even better Chip Foose.I got to meet Dennis Gage from My Classic Car when they came down to see the show.They have taped a few episodes here.He is one cool ass old dude.And let me tell ya he REALLY knows his ****.He walked through all of the almost a thousand cars naming what they were what was not factory what was replaced right down to why they changed some things from year to year.He even pointed out what different type of car parts were used on custom built rides.And not just the way old school stuff,no he was on the money about cars up in to the 80's and 90's.And you gotta love the mustache.He keeps that thing slick and curly on the spot lmao!!He signed my Somernight cruise T shirt and let my wife take our picture together.I watch that show faithfully not only because it's a good show,but just because how nice and cool as hell he was to me and my wife.He didn't just talk to us for a minute to be polite.No he walked around with us talking about all the cars and how he liked our town.He is top notch in my book.I hope he comes back this summer.

yeah i watched horsepower tv today and turned it off after 5 minutes. the dumbasses wouldnt stop making the ford and chevy jokes. oh and that show chop cut rebuild is gay too. they dont do anything but show you a vehicle after its already been worked on.

I watch xtream 4x4 and, but i don't really pay too much attention to HP sence they got all sponcer crazy. Plus i really hate that young guy.

It is called Canada. It is this country north of us. Like a cheep loft over a great party. They talk funny up there. They cant say "theres a mouse in my house that I dont know about' they say theres a "Moouse in my hoouse that I dot know aboot" funny huh
