Is this done on the drivers' or passengers' side behind the headlight?

What does this do?
When your high beams are on the low beams stay on. Instead of turning off. But i don't know which side is the left side... all depends on orientation between u and the truck. Thats why I always refer to drivers' or passengers' side.

you know for a long time i read that this mod was not doable on dimes with quad beam lights...but it seems it is!?!? stylin concepts (http://www.stylinconcepts.com/parts.cfm?categoryid=26&subcategoryid=185&partfamilyid=132&brandid=0) even has the kit...its kinda costly...i've seen it for full size trucks for $19.95. this is one i would like to do...blind EVERYONE! :bigeyes2_
ive got the kit for my burb, i love it
usually the left side is the drivers side. i know when you order parts it is but not sure what they did.

The left side is always the drivers side. Directions on a vehicle are based on if you are sitting at the wheel. ALWAYS

I called Stylin and they say that it won't work on the dimes.... Reason being is because we use our high beam for DRL. The tahoes and burbs don't. They have a seperate DRL. So this would cause all 4 lights to be on all the time (DRL).

Well it will work but with all the lights on with DRL.... you would have to disable DRL permanently or hit the dome override button 4 times to turn them off

well for a long time there was a special note that said this product will not WORK on s-10s...but when i have check recently that special note is gone. and usually if the product doesn't work it usually says this product is not yet available for your vehicle. hmmmm....interesting deal...

Nope! This is what I did:
First I disabled the DRL's (I dont mind them except the crappy orange/yellow glow), Then I grounded bothe driv. and pass. yellow wires. Now my Low beams stay on then when the cluster turns on I can use all 4.
napa and advance have sell the kit for less than styln'

Check out this link for the Quad Headlight mod. This is for 1998 and up. http://www.fmtc.com/~brule/quad.html
I did a really nice write up with pictures for the 95-97 years quad headlight mod which is different from the 98+ but soo much easier! The down side is that the write up was on S10 Planet and now it's gone..........
I still have the install pictures if someone needs them but basically you tap into the headlight wire harness on the drivers side fender around the ABS unit.
Sorry this was a short answer but i'm half asleep and will be fully asleep in 2 mins. =-) Just post up if you can't figure it out =-)

this is cool...i think i'll give it a try...i already have bright ass lights...all 4 at one time...i'll be unstoppable... ;-)
I hope you realize that you should upgrade to a heavier duty harness because our harness' aren't designed for this. What's going to end up happening is that with the current harness is that it will heat up and eventually burn. Weather it's 2 months or 2 years from now. Nothing wrong with the mod, but you want a heavier harness.

Heavier harness? As in replacing all of the wiring for the lights? The lights aren't going to be pulling any more current. Are they? If not then why would you need to upgrade? From those directions all you are doing is using a relay to ground the low beams. The relay is not even transferring current... just a ground. You do splice into the high beams just for the positive voltage.
NO WAIT!!!! How are these lights wired??? Does the high/low beams run off of the same power line? i.e. one postive wire to both instead of two individual ones?? If this is true then I'm all wrong.... hehehe.... I'll have to look at a wiring diagram for the lights. Which I don't have since I'm here at work.

You are essentially doubling the power at once to the same portion of the harness.

actually in a DC system power runs from grnd to pos . so yes current is tunning through the relay .
