hell, all lucas is, is a straight 50wt. so in all actuallity, if you use 10w30, the lucas will make it round abouts a 15w40. You might as well use rotella!!!
Really the bad thing about it is it has no agents to inhibit foam formation, which can be seen in the demonstration on that site.
Oh, and if you go buy yourself a can of moly.....use 1/10th of the can and not the whole damn thing!
that was also a bias test. The oil he put it into was already foamed. I have run Lucas for the past 2 years, and everytime I have dropped my oil (yes, it was after a drive) it hasnt been foamed in any way shape or manner. I dont trust that test 1 bit. like I said, I have been nothing but satistifed with it and run it as long as I have leaky valve seals

How can you say the oil he added was foamed. I didnt notice any indication of that.
And also to my point before, why dont you just use rotella?! All lucas does is change the viscosity of your oil and make it heavier. That is why it climbs gears better. Lucas bottles dont get blessed by god on their way out the factory, it isnt anything special.

THEN THEY ADD THE LUCAS
NOW FOR THE LUCAS

And I run 20/50 in the summer because my valve seals are so bad. In the winter I add the lucas to 10/40

Oh and to add some more, rotella has more solvents and anti-breakdown additives in it compared to your everyday motor oil. It is rated for diesel AND gasoline engines. This equates to a 5000k mile oil change interval.
Really what I am arguing about the rotella is, why thicken your oil with lucas when you could just use rotella which has way more advantages to it.
i dont know about lucas or anything but i know someone who works at the plant where they bottle the oils and most of the companys use the same oil. he said you'll see one companys bottles go through the line than the next companys bottle will just start coming with no adjustments to the machine or anything. so its all just the same oil. only the high milage ones have an extra additive. thats why i just buy the cheapest oil i can find and change it as often as i can

Ok girlies...this isnt the first time I've heard that lucas is bad. My dad has used it in his cars and it hasnt gone bad, but we just put some in my boyfriends car. So if something goes wrong..I know whats to blame.

Hell, I'd be using amsoil synth oil if it wasnt $10 a quart!!!! The **** lasts 15K miles+ though.

i still dont know if i'd be using the same oil for 15,000 miles. something about that just dont sound right. the oil might still be good but it will get dirty plus i dont think oil filters were made for 15,000 mile.

no, you got to change the filter every 3 regardless. Many people have used it for 15k+ and had an oil analysis done on it and it came up with still having more life to it. Unfortunately oil filters will never last that long. Cellulose media only lasts 3k while synthetic filter media will last you tops of 5k miles.

hey, remember Lucas doesn't cause rice droppings! so if you find some under the car, DONT blame the lucas!
I hate to tell ya'll this, but that site is a joke. he's not useing proper test methods and has no crontrol oils to verify his results.
don't forget I work companey that test oil. look up SGS (http://www.sgs.com/oil_gas_and_chemicals?lobId=5553) on the web. i work in the OGC department (oil/ gas / chemical)
no lucas fuel treatment dosn't have an anti foaming additive, but you shouldn't be useing the fuel additive to your oil anyway. That's why they make differnt kinds of additives. Nobody even said dump it in your cranck case and run it for the full 3000. Read the instuction lucas even says add before oil change. IT'S A CLEANER AND IS NOT MEANT PROLONGED USE.

In my opinion ALL additives are a huge waste of money. All brands of oil you buy have plenty of the right additives and solvents needed.I run synthetic oil and filters and change my filter around 5k/6k and the oil around 10k/12k.I have always used 2 certain brands "not saying which ones and start that debate"and they both tested good in a oil analysis. And I didn't use any additives in either one when tested.
