spacer question

:confused:Ok here it goes, I just lowered my front on my 85 2wd s10 p/u with 2 inch drop belltech spindles. I went to put on my 16 inch IROC wheels and they bind against the tierod. the factory 14 inch steelies dont have a problem.
they are the front/rear specific. how much spacer do I need up front & where do I get them. I am really concerned about the horror stories I have heard about wheels coming off with spacers.
Hope I am not just being paranoid. Any & all info is appreciated, thanks.

stock backspacing for 2wd is 4.5 in, measure the rim from the mounting surface to the inside lip of the rim. That will tell you approximately how much of a spacer you will need
