View Full Version : Question for Standard Cab w/buckets & 2 subs
First off, I have Cavalier bucket seats installed in my truck. I just built a box for 2 10" subs. I built the box to go the length of the inside of the cab, which is about 52". Then I centered both subs within 52". I put the box in the cab to see how it would look like, and the subs arent centered behind the seats, which is what I wanted. So the question is what would be a better idea? If the subs are centered behind the seats...it would make them offset on the backwall.
Thanks.

Basically, somehow my seats are off centered. I dont know if its because I originally had a 60/40 bench or what.

ok are you going ported or sealed? and what are the measurements behind your seat? and what subs are you using
Im just gonna build a whole new box. Im gonna center them behind each sub.
Im going sealed. Measurements are 52" length x 5" depth x 13.5" height. Im using 2 10" Rockford shallow mount subs.

well without sub displacement you have 1.22cuft in that box so you should be good. are you talkin about the new p3s?

I used 2 separate boxes but I dont have shallow mount subs so I couldnt go with a 5" depth. As for the center... I would not center them behind the seats. I would off set them so they played to the out side that way its not driving directly into your back thats how mine are set up.

Well I just measured and the seats arent really offset by much. The passenger is off by about 1 1/2". I messed up building the box...thats what happened.

Yup the new P3's.

Good point, but I cant have them spaced to the outside of the seats. Theres a little handle on the back of the seats, which is for folding the seat up. (2-door Cavalier seats). It will hit the subs if its behind it. Only thing I could do if I didnt want them directly behind the seats would be to center them behind the center console.
