i just rebuilt my 2.2 and it just will not start. its getting gas and spark. im thinking its a timing issue because it backfires through the throttle body. also what do you use to install the timing chain the big hole on the cam sprocket or what? there is a small dot on the back of the cam sprocket but you cant see it when its installed its also not on one tooth its kinda in the middle of 2 teeth. i need help bad ive spent more time trying to start it than i did removing, rebuiding and installing it:mad:

If the dot's on the back-side of the cam-sprocket, you're putting it on backwards. And wasn't there a pin that held the tensioner back when you bought the set? Or are you cheesing-out & just replacing the chain & sprockets?

its not on backwards it will only go on one way. i dont have a problem with the tensioner.
