3.4 Exhaust suggestions???

Hey guys,

I will be installing the crate 3.4 w/ TBI on the T5 and I am still not sure what i'm going to to for an exhaust system.

I don't need any cat and will have the TES headers on the motor. I don't want anything real loud, but with a nice smooth rumble.

Any suggestions???

Really don't know anything about a 3.4,I just put headers on my 4.3,deleted the cat,built a new 2.5" "Y" pipe 40series Flowmaster 2.5 in and 2.25 out sounds pretty good for a single exhaust.You might consider something along those lines.

Is the 40 flowmaster a loud sounding muffler or a more rumbley muffler?

got hedman headers on mine, soon to have custom x pipe and 2 flow 44's into slp tips.

Hedmans in a into a single 2.5 flowmaster 40 and dumps right at the rear axle. Its got a nice rumble but not too loud.

Hey guys.

I'm still having some trouble between mufflers. My plans are:

TES Headers >> pipe >> Flowmaster (60) >> OUT
<OR>
TES Headers >> pipe >> Gibson (??) >> OUT

Which would you guys prefer? I just want a nice mellow rumble.

why flow 60's ??? flow 40's are the only good sounding muffler for our v6's.

The reason i was looking at the 60 is because some people have told me how loud the 40's are.

i went magnaflow. high flow cat and muff r both magna. mine also dumps right b 4 the rear axle. i'll try to get a vid up in the next day or so. i have a vid of my old exhaust. it was a high flow cat into a cherry bomb glasspack.

WTH my blazer has a hollowed out cat and a cherry bomb glasspack and it sounds nowhere that good.

that they do. thats why i went and paid $420 for an all new Magnaflow. it sounds much better, however i can feel a loss in power due to the increase in back pressure.

The gutted cat is also killing hp and sound. Get a "test pipe" put in there and you'd be surprised at the sound difference.
