Hello

New S10 owner from Sweden here. (1995 S10 4.3 vortec)
I got a problem. When I start with warm engine the Check engine light will go on after a few seconds. Iīt stays on tīll I reset the ecu.
Then I stays of untill next time I start with engine warm.
So if I just take it to work and back (only cold starts) it doesnīt go on, but if I stop somewhere on the way Iīt goes on when I start it again with warn engine.
My ODB2 reader just says "err", so no help there.

Any ideas?

/Thanks

I canīt get any codes from OBD. Tried with ODB2 reader and tried to jump the connector but the light doesnīt flash at all?

My guess would be that a sensor is "out of range". However with no specific code It'd be ard to tell which one(s). Or perhaps the injector is leaking as it sits, is there any fuel in your oil?

No fuel in the oil. The P.O. lifted the headīs of and changed all gasketīs etc recently. He had also changed some expensive sensor in front of the intakte. I donīt know much about this enginges =) Is there any exploded view of the enginge on the net so I can learn?
Perhaps there is a short in one of the sensor wiring somwhere?

o2 sensor heater circuit but maybe that should show up on scanner ? does it start and run normal when you start it hot except for the light ?

Yes, it starts and run normal.

I had a simular problem with one of my old cars (SAAB 9-3) Iīt gave me different codes everytime. In that case it was the rear muffler that was clogged. I left the car to SAAB mechanics 3 times, but they couldnīt find the problem. I got solved when the muffler exploded all over the road =)

This one has brand new exhaust all the way.

My fuel gauge moves back and forward while Iīm driving. When still it shows correct but while driving it jumps around. Could that have something to do with the "Check engine light"?

shouldnt that could be a bad ground or sending unit a little bit of movement is normal of the gauge is under acceleration and braking though when the gas is getting sloshed around insde the tank

Found that fuse no5 was blown today (ENG-1).
Havnīt checked that one before because my Swedish book says "NOT USED" about that one, but oviously it is used.
So what is it for?
SES light has not gone on since I changed the fuse but I havnīt start with warm engine yet eather so....??
