I read in another post from a sticky (I actually tried to search but had no usable results) that:
In 2002, GM began installing the new "Multec 2" injectors, upgrading the system to "Multi-Point Flexible Injection". This new system uses actual injectors and does away with poppet valves. GM is offering an upgrade kit through dealerships for 96+ engines with CSFI.

Does anyone have any experience with this and if so, is it worth do on a '98 with 90000+ miles?

Thanks!

It is basically the same thing at the poppet design, just no cheapy poppets is all. Do you need them is the question? If you are having no problems with the current arrangement and I never did on 2 S10's, it will do nothing for you. If youve had repeated injectors sticking, then yes, instead of repairing them again, it is worth it. Really only states which allow MTBE's gas has the problems of injectors repeatly sticking since this gums the poppets up. Regular use of injector cleaners makes the poppets last 100's of thousands of miles!

I've found the "new" injector upgrade to more sensitive to high fuel pressure. They will lock fairly easy. Last instance was an '04 Blazer running 11psi and 114% duty cycle to get 11.8:1. The high duty cycle was used to bring the pressure down. On cold nights, below freezing the owner said they still locked a few times...

114% duty cycle? sounds to me like a time bomb.
