I'm hoping someone can help me out. I recently installed 1" lowering blocks (DJM) 2 weeks ago and I rechecked them a week later and noticed that the nuts on the passenger side of truck had all worked loose. I torqued them as specified. Should I have used locktite or something like that? Is this normal for this to happen? The truck is a '01 S 10 with 3rd door 4.3 and auto. I realize 1" isn't much of a drop but if you seen the roads up here you would understand.

I guess I'll roll my big ass back up under the truck tomorrow and check them again. If they are loose again I'll get out the locktite. Thanks for the input.

It takes a few miles for everything to settle again once you change out blocks. Re-tighten, add some locktite if that settles your mind. Isnt like you'd re-use the old u-bolts if you decide to swap them again.

is there enough thread there to use another nut as a jamb nut? Might be an idea.

Gentlemen (and I use that term loosely) I just finished rolling out from under the rear of that truck and those nuts were loose again. Not by much, so out came the locktite! I guess the next step will be to put jam nuts on that was suggested. Thanks again for all of your input. I'm spending more time looking at my truck's rear than the little woman's! :D

Find some grade 8 lock washers too.

If the locktite doesn't work, I'll add the lock washers to the list also, Thanks!

What was the torque setting you used?
I did mine at 85 ft pounds-factory torque, but I really havent put any miles on the truck in a couple weeks so i havent checked mine

Mine never loosened but I used the jam nut method just to be sure they never would.

If you torque them with a torque wrench they should'nt come loose. Torque them with at least 75 lbs.

I torqued them at 80 lbs. I did check them last night and I do believe the liberal amount of locktite took care of my problem. I got some tight nuts now!!:D
