what's different about the 99 that wouldnt work with other years?

air injection? egr? couldn't all that be changed to make it work with other years?

I have this vehicle! I have a 99 GMC Sonoma red ext. cab with a 4.3. I have only a couple of mods but am looking to a HYPERTECH POWER PROGRAMMER.

Each year the programs are improved and maps are changed. Everything is getting tighter controlled since there getting more accurate. When you plug a year model programmer in its gets the GM factory tune code which could be as many as 3-4 different ones a year, then picks the match update for that code and uploads the corrections to it. It can be used for everything else but tuning, but tunings has so many codings over the years the programmers dont have that kind of like Disc space to cover them all so newer programers would go back to just the begining of OBD2. Then when you get to 01+'s, the comps themselves changed styles and complete recodings. Newer 01+ use OBD2 second gens and my 05 has what people called a bastard OBD1 1/2 years ago. Its using some of the 06-08 OBD3 in a pretesting stage while being OBD2 in style etc!

Dude Id love to win this baby. Im always broke as a joke and that usually means all my mods are discounted or on clearance or something for me to get them. I want wheels really bad especially since im rollin my stockers right now. They are the really ****ty base model style wheels with out the beuty rings and they are bent to **** and to top it off ones about to blow and I have no spare so Im in desperate need of new wheels and tires.
