View Full Version : Zo6 rims, sonoma 2 wheel drive
what type of offset what i need to run a z06 rim measuring 17"x9.5" front, and 18"x10.5" rear? These rims are not factory zo6, but replicas that fit camaros. Keep in mind I dont want any tire exposed outside of the fender well. Ohh yeah I also have the zq8 suspension.
Same offset as the camaro I beleive. Just dont run spacers

Too much strain on the studs! With decent torque and you can say good by to those wheels.
yeah, spacers are a baddeal.com in my book. I havent ever used them, but I also havent heard anything good about them either

I've been running 1.5 inch bolt on adapters to convert a set of 4x4 rims to a 2wd s-10. I've ran them about 30,000 miles so far with 0 problems. Keep them torqued properly and never use air tools and you won't have a problem. I don't have large HP numbers though, so I can't speak for the durability of them under constant high power situations.

ya well ya know my s10 will put out an astonishing 200 questionable horse power to the wheel after i get my s/c, is that still too much for spacers?

I'm totally stock 4.3 vortec with a hyperchip reprogramming... not quite 200 hp but i would feel totally comfortable running them that high. I am not one to baby my ride. They have held up through countless burnouts, donuts, and dragging. When I took them off last week to get them coated they seemed perfect. They showed no signs of wear or fatigue.

I have a video of doing donuts in the snow too but its not hosted online at the moment.
with a 17" camero wheel you can get a 5" backspaceing on an s-10, but you'll have to run 50s up front to keep them from rubbing. real zo6 wheels have a 7" backspaceing. You put a 2" spacer on small pattern chevy and race it your asking for problems. You live in H-town right? if your looking for a set of rims they have the delmar and sam houston raceway park swap meets comming up at the of april. You can get a nice set of rims for nothing there. i payed 100 for a set of pony draglights there last year.
i posted the date in the events forum under central.

Not to mention a complete set of quality spacers will run you about $200. With that money you can put it towards THE PROPER rims. The only reason I chose this route is because I already had the $1200 rims and got a different truck. Spending $200 > $1,200 again.
DO it right the first time and you'll be happier.

camaro offsets and 4x4 offsets are the same I belive. but a 2wd truck has a different offset need.
there are probably thousands of people using spacers with no problems...BUT if you are the 1 in 1000 person to have a wheel fall or break off goin 100 mph it's not worth it. if you do it get expensive adapters. spacers vibrate and shift and loosen lug nuts.
