that is pretty intresting. i give the guy credit for pretty much doing it all on his own (he said there was no info about it). it looks pretty easy too, looks like most of the stuff bolted up directly. thats something i would have to look into alittle before i got started.

Nice writeup but if I was going to swap in a Ford rear end I'd go with the 9 inch one.
you want the 9" a 77 granada rear is the closest direct bolt up to an s-10 that I've found, but i ain't tearing my beach truck(usta be a car) apart to get it.

Hmm. . . I've got a stock 8.5" with the G80 locker -- looks like I might have another mod to add to the list!

Id rather have the 8.5 that comes in some S10's.A whole lot easier to swap and just as strong as that rear.
You can always do what Grappler did... 8.8 posi rear w/ independant suspension from a Couger...

yeah i would like to swap rear ends smiply for 4 wheel disc but i am just gonna do the brake upgrade once i can find some off a camaro for cheap
thats sweet lookin nice wide tires too
You can see more of the truck at www.vettel.org/andy
i can see the point with the 7.5/7.625 rears but i don't see the legitimacy with a GM 8.5" rear. yeah the G80 isn't great but you're gonna pay for the real deal. i'm sure a 12 bolt would be sufficient too.

The next upgrade on my list for the "Turbonoma" will be the swap to the Ford
Explorer 8.8 rear end. It's simple enough to do and it will handle whatever you
throw at it. PEACE>Tony :D
