I've had an on going problem with missfiring/hesitation just passed idle on my 99 S10 4.3 automatic. The problem is bigger just after it rains or it's humid.
At first the "check engine" light was intermittantly coming on. I've since replaced the MAF sensor and the light hasn't reappeared. I'm thinking that the PCM might have be programmed to the old error code and that resetting would bring it back to stock settings.
Below is a suggestion by another S10 owner, however he mentioned that he hasn't reset on of these in a long time.
Does this look correct for my 99 4.3???

Turn key to "ON", pull ECM fuses (ECMA and ECMB, in the under hood fuse/relay box). Turn key "OFF". Replace fuses, start truck. If it reset, the truck will have a hard time staying running. It won't idle very well and may stall. Just restart it as needed until it relearns idle and stays running on it's own. Sometimes I give it a little throttle to keep it going and sometimes I take the truck for a drive and "rawhide" it in hopes that the PCM bases it's new fuel/igniton maps towards it's PE tables. I'm a goob...

if its after rain and humid could have a problem with condensation in dist causing it.
