So i have referenced the part numbers on the 02 sensor for my truck.
It looks like only 01-part of 04 are the same.... Sucks cause i was hopin they would all be the same for the years the 4.3 was offered.
Reason i am looking this up is the new y-pipe i had installed has fried the wires on one of the sensors. I was going to go to the junk yard to look for a good one. This just makes it more of a hunt! I am not really looking to spend 60 bucks on a new sensor.
Does anyone know what size wrench i will need to take it off?
I am also on the look out for a new 3rd brake lense mine looks like it has a huge zit on it!!!!
As always when you go to a junk yard you never know what you may find!
Thats part of the fun of junk yard hunting!

If I remember correctly it is either 7/8" or a little higher in the metric like 19mm or maybe21mm. My honest opinion though.... buy a new sensor those damn things are so picky and the computer relies on them so much. I did all three last year total pita. Those things somehow get welded in there. Use the BOX end of your wrench or you will ruin it by rounding it out.

They make a specific socket for the O2's. I dont recall the size, but if you stop by the AutoParts store, Im sure you will find one on the tool aisle and read off the size....or ask to see an O2 sensor and fit it to a wrench on the tool aisle.
The 3rd lens is different for Std and Ext cabs.
They are known for warping. The heat generated by those little brake light bulbs is alot

If the wire is burnt in the middle you can. I would take it back to where you got the work done and raise hell. Make them fix it..

I have an extra O2 sensor. Guy I got it from IIRC said it only has about a 1k miles on it. It's got a dent in it but it should be fine. Let me find a pic of the plug so you can see it and verify it's the one you need.

Ok, see the one on the right? That's the one I have. See the small dent in it? Hard to see ain't it? Is this the kinda of plug your truck has?
