here's mine
s10 regular cab short bed,new zo6 corvette motor (427,500hp), red, corvette rims, lowered 2/3(on top of what an extreme is already),all wheel drive, 3.73's,auto tranny, comfortable buckets (sporty but still comfortable), an exhaust that will make that 427 really rumble and it has to come out through the body on each side, roll pan, tonneau cover, the ss style body kit, shaved everything, led caddy tail lights,

i'll updated it as i think of more

chrome gas lid w/real rivets
LED light bar in the rear
diamond clear headlights w/PIAA all around lit by a red top gel cell
diamond clear corners
clear cadillac tails

Perfect truck as far as what? Project? Daily driver? What?

well lets see . my noma on bags body dropped , SS gen 3 bumper cover , sir michaels smooth rollpan , T-rex full face billet grille , DIP wheels X 18's , full custom interior , fiberglassed and painted with some leather and carbon fibre accents . lots O billet throughout the truck . clear caddy tails . and a silver metalic pearl paintjob .

the jury is still out on the powertrain department .

Hummmm.......... Mine would be a V-12 Twin Turbo, independent suspension-all wheel drive S-10.

Hmm. . . Let's see, I'll start with a Project truck first:

A standard cab, sportside bed S-10 body sitting on top of a 2006 Z06 Corvette chassis and drivetrain, but with a 6 psi blower pushing the hp up to around 550-560. Same suspension, same rims, same interior, etc. LS7 with 6-speed backing it up -- AWD would be nice, but not extremely important. Oh, and did I mention a blower? That's important.

Either that or a standard cab, sportside bed SS Silverado with a few suspension upgrades (mainly a 2/2 drop) and a few extra "go fast goodies" -- like, um, maybe a BLOWER. . . 7.0L 6-speed manual AWD (an LS7 6-speed but AWD and blown, of course).

Daily driver. . . Hmm. . . That's a hard one. Like the project trucks I have two in mind: one more practical than the other.

Impractical: Chevy 2500 HD dually crew cab diesel. 2" lift kit, larger turbo and stacks, with a BIG brushguard (push bar, as it's called by some), wheel-well flares, and a kick-ass stereo system (of my own design and installation).

Practical: A ZR5 S-10 with the same mods my '98 has (ALL of them -- including the blower -- except with 3.42 rear-end gears) and with a 2" lift, 1" wheel spacers (or the same wider stance done with suspension upgrades), brushguard and rollbar. Full power EVERYTHING, but no sunroof or leather and with a console shifter, and (of course) a stereo designed and installed by me. Basically, I want a ZR5 body but a ZR2 suspension.

On a more practical side, my perfect project truck would be what I'm working on right now, but COMPLETED.

My 1998 S-10 with ALL of my future mods done and ready to go. Mod list is in my sig, but future mods include:

Dual-friction clutch
Rear-disc conversion
SSBC turbo-slotted rotors on all 4 corners
Two-piston calipers up front
All stainless steel, braided brake lines
Upgraded manifold (with injectors necessary to run 9 psi on the Wynjammer)
9 psi on the Wynjammer
Tonneau cover
Bed Rug
Cowl hood (functional)
Sport mirrors

Basically, what my truck WILL be in a couple of years. Why keep the V6? Several reasons: 1) people already look at it and say "that's a V6?! Wow." 2) Even with all the mods I've got in place, it still get better gas mileage (although the fuel economy isn't as important) than most V8s. 3) If I did all the same mods to a V8, I'd kill myself shortly afterward. 4) If I did all the same mods to a V8, I'd be in such a low time bracket at the track that I would need a 5-point harness and a full roll cage. 5) A fast V6 is nowhere NEAR as common as a fast V8!

Of course, I may, in the near future, be doing a motor swap for a 4.8L and bolting a T-56 up to it, with ALL of the mods I've done to the 4.3L I've currently got (but with a cam also). Why a 4.8L? Just as many mods available as the 5.3L and the 6.0L, but it's an underdog -- and I like underdogs! Aside from that, the 4.8L is the old 283 SBC updated -- and I've got VERY good memories of the old 283s! Also, and this will sound really weird but it's how I am, a 4.8L seems more appropriate in an S-Series than any other V8. . . 4.3L-4.8L, they kinda match up! Plus a 4.8L is cheaper to get NEW than any other V8. Of course, it would need to be blown -- but that goes without saying! Of course, the 320 hp 4.6L Cadillac engine looks promising as well. Basically, I would like to keep it 4.xL -- just for S&Gs.

well another of a perfect vehicle would be a honda CRX , with 2 quad 1ohm 15" subs . 2 american bass VFL 150.1 's and iraggi 300 amp alt with ajustable voltage regulator . 4 kinetic 2500 series batteries . expect to see at least 160dB out of it .

anyone mention this (http://www.chevyhiperformance.com/techarticles/83863/) setup yet?

oh, you would be a god on the track with that. unless of course you ran it into a tree, like the guy who bought it supposedly did. what a waste.

I guess my (somewhat realistic) setup would go like this, in addition to what I have.

Blown built LS1/6 All aluminum of course
Perfectly tuned Autox Suspension with option for sticky rear (for occasional drag), with tubular a-arms. possibly four wheel independent.
At least twin piston 12-13" discs all around
Powerglide TH350 probably (don't know much about trannies)
Luxury soundproofed interior with studio quality sound.
Sunroof. (hey, they're pimp)
Some sweet ass 18s. There's so many its hard to choose from.
Hard and completely flush tonneau.

Plus the moon. duh!

leave it up to mr zq8 to make thing complicated

wow its kinda amazing how every body has a different idea on the perfect truck. some people want a totally custom truck some want an old truck that there gonna get to work on and some just want what they have right now. pretty cool

its actually a trick question because i dont think there is a perfect truck its kinda what mr zq8 did you need a bunch of different vehicals for different things.

i like calling him mr zq8

MR. ZQ8? I feel, well, so FORMAL now! LOL. Just don't start calling me SIR -- I hate that. . . Makes me feel old.

Of course I make things complicated -- that's why I'm here! Can't have a project that is also a daily driver as far as I'm concerned -- too hard to keep it clean and undamaged. Plus, when you start delving into high performance, reliability CAN be problematic (but not always -- especially if you build it correctly). Of course, even my daily drivers turn into projects! My Cavalier was fine stock, but I wanted better fuel economy and HAD to have a better sound system (system STILL needs work, though).

Also, I'm a realist -- so a "perfect" truck doesn't exist (close, but not quite). A 2006 Z06 Vette chassis and drivetrain with an S-10 is possible, but not probable -- at least not for me. . . So, I'm happy with what I've got (and the plans I've got for it). But, my daily driver needs a serious upgrade -- I'm not much into cars, so I'd like a nice truck as a DD at one point or another. But, the Cavy is paid for and in good shape, so I can't complain too much. But a ZR5 WOULD be very nice!

Hmmm.
Perfect truck?
Hmm.
There was an experimential version of the HMMV that had a modified Lycoming Textron gas turbine engine coupled to an Allison tranny. Had somewhere around 1200 hp IIRC. Only made 2, and I saw one in a musuem. That sucker can FLY!

Otherwise I'd settle for a extended cab Colorado (Black) 4x4 with a tan leather interior and a blown 502 motor.
