I replaced my heater core in my truck then I also replaced rad cap on it too. Well on the weekend right before I go on holidays the heater hose craps out a brand new hose at that right the hose goes into the intake under the thermostat right above the w/p. Anyway I was wondering if the problem is that the old cap was a 15psi and the new is a 16psi. Could 1 psi really make that much pressure that it would blow I was also wondering if the thermostat didn't open to release the pressure build up.
My truck is a 82 s10 with a 3.4 in it if someone is wondering

1 psi aint gonna make that big of a difference, that hose is prolly rated for way more than you would ever think. My bet is it was just its time to go.

Overtightened hose clamp can cause weak spots in it.
