I considered whoring up firefighter's thread but we've given him enough grief already :D (still feel free to prod about his progress though!)

I got thinking about converting the old 4.3 TBI Whipple S/C to vortech heads. Also eaton 112's from lightenings/cobras seem to come up in the classifieds all the time and often for stupid cheap.

In Rat's roots blower project thread he pointed out that the lower part of the vortech intake manifold has a big flat opening that makes adapting a positive displacement blower pretty straight-forward. As I was considering costs and fueling problems I checked out D-Caf's marine intake pics and it looks like the injector bungs are in the lower, cast iron part of the manifold.

Obviously the fuel rails would have to changed but this seems like a pretty slick starting point for mounting an eaton, doesn't it??? Would it be easier and cheaper to figure out an adapter or sandwiched intercooler setup that would bolt to the marine lower and then to an eaton/roots/whipple headunit? You could even offset the adapter front/back a bit to line up the drive pulley if you couldn't one to fit exactly.

Opinions?

(can you tell I miss my S/C?)

Well if you want I can sell you a Eaton lower manifold allready modded to fit a 4.3L real cheap. I hate to admit it but that project might be dead........
