Mufflers?
If so I would sure like your comments, sound & loudness. I'm looking for a stainless muffler for a cat-back system on my crew cab. I want it to be quiet because I really dont care for the sound of many six cylinder S-10's I have heard. Many sound like a sports car not a truck http://forums.s-series.org/images/smiles/icon_rolleyes.gif

welcome to the site. my friend has a flow master with the dual outlets on his 4.3 s10 that thing was loud i mean real loud but he also had a high flow cat and 3' pipe all the way up to the mufflers. and it didnt sound that good. if you had a regular cat, 2 1/4 or 2 1/2" pipe with the exhaust out the back or sides it should pretty good.

My flowmaster 40 dual out sounds like a damn v8 on my 2.8. Well My cam in the 2.8 makes it sound like that. I love being asked when I beat people in 1500 fullsize trucks, if I have a v8 and the look on their faces when I tell them I have 176 cubes of fury!!!!

I have a MagnaFlow stainless muffler on my TA and it has a great mellow "not real loud" rumble. On a S10 I would say it would sound great also. Here is a sound clip from it.

I went with duals all the way, 2.5" pipes into 2 high flow cats and magnaflow muffs. Flow is excellent, but the tone is almost too loud. Best of luck.

not what you're looking for but i have a stainless gibson single outlet. it doesnt sound as throaty as the flowmasters do, but i will say it has a nice little rumble and at much less cost then borla. the tones are not high pitched at all, and does sound very nice. thumbsup from me.

that is the part number to the magnaflow cat back i got. been installed about a week. at highway speeds is isnt much louder than stock unless you stomp on it. i also got a gutted air filter housing with a drop in k and n filter. if you just sit there with the trans in park and rev the engine, it sounds real nice. i wouldnt trade it for a blowmaster or borla ever. it is full stainless, btw, the only problem i had with it is the pipes coming out the back were meant for a truck with a rollpan. they werent quite long enough for my taste (i have a factory bumper for now). all in all i really like it and i would recommend it to anyone that want a good exhaust...

o yea, the power increase is well worth it. just be prepared to not get good fuel economy ono you first couple of tanks (cause you will be sittin there revin you engine listening to your exhaust, lol).

I'm still shopping around for a new muffler... how are the Borla or Magnaflow for interior resonance? Right around 1500-1900 rpm with the Flowmaster it gets pretty damn loud inside.

not much louder than stock, but you will notice the sound level inside the cab will be louder, but not by much...

Well I have a Flowmaster 40 right now, trying to tell if it'll be less interior noise than that thing makes! :D It's been about 4 years since I had stock exhaust, I don't really remember it that well...

I purchased a SpinTech Sportman RV muffler for my 1994 SS. It was 304 stainless steel, very well constructed with a 2 1/2" inlet and two 2 1/4" outlets. It has no interior resonance at all and has great tone at idle. I ran twin tailpipes out to the bumper with 3" stainless steel tips. I liked this muffler so much that I just installed a pair of Sportman XL mufflers on my 1972 Cutlass. Great sound!!

Today I dropped off my truck to get 2.5 tru dual ran with no cat. I am running two Borla turbo xl mufflers offset to center. I will pick it up tomorrow, I will post on outcome. I guess it will be today being it is after midnight.

Picked up my truck today and I noticed a huge power increase at least 15hp. Not as deep as I thought it would be. I had a H pipe put in linking the two.
