intake 4.3

trying to put 94 vortech into 88 4.3 TBI what intake do I need to keep my TBI doing this on a very low budget picked up the motor for 125 and dont have much left?:hypnotize

if the 94 has a balance shaft It almost definitely will, the tbi intake wont fit.

yep! pulled mine off and was pissed to find this out. will the same year none vortech fit it or will I need to get after market?

any non balance shaft motor can be used.or cou can delete the balance shaft.

no it wont be much worse than a non balance shaft engine.

No, the balance shaft removal should not cause bad shaking... should be about the same as your 88 was. You can remove it and plug the hole with a freeze plug.

I've never done it myself, but had pondered it and Sparky told me that I'd just have to plug the oil holes that oil the shaft with freeze plugs. They are at the end of the oil supply line so no huge worries.

i saw a guy that made a rod that ran in place of the balance shaft and had holes in it so that it would squirt oil down into the valley and help lubricate everything. i think it was over on s10f. i would do that if it was me.

If sticking with the CPI, that would be a great idea (may consider it for mine when I rebuild it), but the issue here was the clearance on the older TBI intake.

to bad no one makes different upper intake manifolds to adapt CPI ti different fuel delivery methods like TBI and carb.as for poppet holes use dummy poppets. it would be cool to have 3 carbs with 2 barrels each on a 4.3 like the old muscle cars had.
