Please stop flagging my ad. I come to Seattle often and advertise there when I am coming.
Unemplyment forces sale.
97 S10 ZR2 4x4. 96 Corvette LT4 engine and a built automatic transmission.
Everything in the running gear has been replaced and upgraded to handle the horse power.
Fuel injected LT4 with the Chevy Hot cam made for Corvette from Crane cams. It is a complete roller motor with aluminum heads.
It is a 4 bolt main block made for Corvette. It weighs about the same as the v-6 that came out of it. The engine stock puts out 375 horse power, but the 52 mm throttle body and headers with dual exhaust put it up a litte more.
Remflex graphite exhaust gaskets. New 1" header bolts. They have not leaked since I put them on.
I used the same graphite gaskets on the header collectors for a tight seal and true form fit.
New Magna Flow X pipe and Magna Flow Flex pipe just below the collectors.
2 1/2 in exhaust with Magna Flow 24 in stainless steel mufflers. Nice rumble.
New MSD cap, rotor, wires, and NGK Irridium plugs. The tune up was over $600 in parts alone.
I also just installed a 52mm BBK throttle body.
New Interstate battery 8 months ago. K&N air filter.
New Air Lift air bags for the rear to help for towing and heavy loads with independant air lines.
Two computers. One for racing and horse power and one for daily driving. Both are street and whatever you prefer driving.
Tow package. It is wired for the newer 7 prong and also the 4 prong on the same harness. I also installed a trailer brake controller.
New stereo with the USB port for lots of music and no CD piles in the truck. It also has the MP3 jack to plug in an accessory player.
Radiator just serviced when the tune up was done with all new antifreeze.
The cam has a slight uneven idle but it is still a little on the mild side. Just right for getting good fuel economy. I have gotten 22 to the gallon before on the highway but with the ethonal gas I average about 16-18 combined town and highway. I still get around 18 on the highway but that is with premium fuel. It is still better mileage than the stock V-6 with a whole lot more power.
The transmission is out of a Z28 Camaro amd has been built up with Corvette internal parts and a stage 2 shift kit so it shifts hard when you want it to and smooth when your just cruizin.
The transfer case is stock but just push a button and your in 4 wheel drive. It is really good for conveniance if you need it. I use only synthetic fluids in the trans.
I just had the rear differential replaced with one from a 2002 ZR2 with disc brakes. I had the rear end gone through before I put it in the truck and put in an Eaton Locker as well for true full posi.
I had the truck lifted 2 1/2 inches and the front suspension parts were replaced with heavy duty parts. At that time I did the front end alignment and ball joints and idler arm. All new.
I just put on new 18 x 8 chrome Speedy Envy wheels. I have locks on them too.
The tires and front brakes have about 18,000 miles on them and the rear brakes have about 8000 miles on them. They were done when I had the rear end installed.
The truck has been very dependable and is fairly economical to drive. I haven't had any real problems with it accept I had to put in a fuel pump about 1 month ago. That is all that I needed to do to it that I had to do. Everythiing else is almost new anyway from building it up.
I also have lots of spare parts and things that are of good value that will go with it for the person who buys it. I have extra spindles and rotors from an 2004 ZR2 with dual piston calibers and master cylinder, extra transfer case, the genuine GM manuals for the S10 ZR2 and 96 Corvette, and other misc. parts and pieces for various things.
I just put on new tailgate cables as well. And new glass halogen headlights.
Hurculiner bed liner. I also put in a new rubber bed and tailgate mat.
There is a few things more to tell about it.
$10000 or best offer. Over $25000 invested. This one is proven. Not a kid job. I bought it from a 65 year old guy who built it right and I am 50 and everything I have done to it has been the best I could get for it so it is done right and adult owned.
No free test rides. Serious enquiries only.
Enjoy the pictures. I can send you more pictures if you are interested. Call me and I will get your email address.
I may consider a part trade for another 4x4. Call to see if I may want what you have. This is not a kids toy. It is made for an adult with work and play in mind. I made it for all around use for things that I do. Street, strip, 4x4, work, towing, daily transportation. It does it all.
If you think you want something like this and like pure American horse power with a very fun truck call me at 541-844-4890 and ask for Del. No emails will be answered. Phone calls only.

Good luck, its a nice truck and from what I can see done right but I don't think 10k will ever come out of it unless you find one hell of a sucker.

It amazes me what people do to their cars, "self included". Yea, you have to understand that a project is worth more to the person doing it than to anybody else.

just because you don't want to buy it doesn't mean you have to be a sucker to buy it for that price. Local markets differ as do peoples taste. Some lazy bastard may want a truck like that but is to lazy to build it yourself. You'd probably buy it if it had a 60* V6 and I would buy it if I had the money.

That truck fully loaded with power everything and leather interior is only blue booked at 6k in perfect shape for its area. The motor swap alone drops that price by $500 in KBB eyes. While the v8 is nice without checking casting numbers it could be anything from a 262 to a 400 with a corvette top. If you have ever checked casting numbers its a PITA esp in a s10 engine bay.

The V8 alone will highly specialize the market for the truck and while that might help I doubt it. Most people are gonna want a truck that any mechanic they can carry it to can and will work on. Most shops will turn their nose up at it, the shops that will are gonna charge more.

Most insurance companies have a field day if your honest enough to tell them it has a highly powered motor in it out of a sports car. If you don't tell them most likely if you ever get caught it will be scraped.

Inspection is another issue if the buyer has it in that area, most places are lazy and will fail it if it doesn't have the stock motor in it. If you lied to the insurance and still have it listed as a 4.3 its gonna be blackballed right there.

It very well might be worth 10k to somebody but I still doubt the seller ever sees it out of that truck. Too often you see these type of modded trucks parted out cause its easier to get more money out of them in pieces than whole. That comes from experience from somebody that has built and sold more than one v8 s-10.

It needs a 6" Superlift and some real tires, then maybe...

I'd convert it to the '98+ front end.

I agree as well...
Then I'd paint it dark green or a nice black (not flat)
