what module or programmer am i gonna have to buy to get the beast rollin over 100? in my opinion theres no reason for a truck to have a limiter that stops it from going over 95.
i think they all might do it but not sure

it depends on what year the truck is the new ones you could use a hypertech programer the older ones you have to have a new chip burned. It also depends ont he gears that you have you might not every be able to get to 100 with out redlining the engine

I didn't see one on http://hypertech-inc.com for a 99' 2.2L.

for a 2.2 YOU ARE OUT OF LUCK to my knowledge , unless you put a switch on the VSS wire . but doing that you lose your spedo , auto trannies will also malfunction ,when you disable the speed limiter . but when enabled everything will work fine .
will a 2.2 even do 100mph my 4.3 strains to get there and thats down a hill

ive had my 2.2 barely over 100 . i disconnected the Vss wire from the BCM but not from my avic-n1 . the avic's spedo is 2 -3 mph slower than my actual speed . i had it up to 101 according to the avic n-1 so i would say an actual speed of 103-104 MPH
there is a very good reason for a truck to limit out at 95.....
the reason trucks limit out at 90-95mph is because truck tires are not rated for speeds over 100

Strains?? My 4.3 will hit 100+ in easy! It will do it even quicker with a 75/100 shot of juice though. hehehe...
As xtc_customs stated though you are going to have to disable the VSS wire. I wouldn't personally but do what you will.

ok well i know i would have no problem hittin 100. im only turnin 3800 goin 95 and thats not even close to red lining it. as for the gears i got 3.73s. and if your 4.3 is straining then you must have an automatic. with the 5 speed you have a little bit more control of the shifts but the problem still goes on with the limiter on mine.

Another very good point. My current tires are V rated.

the new style bodys are alot more aero dynamic than these old bricks are. my moms 96 blazer with a stock 4.3 has a faster top end than mine but i'll take her off the line

Do you have a 5spd?
if so I can tell you how. If not than can't do it.
jet makes an module for the 2.2s to eliminate the speed limiter.

Never tried to get mine that high on the street. However on the dyno I hit 128mph with my 4.3L Auto 3.08:1

You can do it for the 2.2 5 spd. w/ out the module.

since he didnt answer i will ......you have to put a switch on your VSS wire . basically snip your VSS wire in 2 . strip both ends and add about 5-10 ft of wire to both ends . run both wires into your cab and connect them to an on/off switch located where you can easily reach . if you need further explanation please ask .
VSS Lead -----Green/White -----Passenger's Front Quarter Black 80 Pin Connector Position 16 (also can be found at the tail of the tranny ).
when the switch in the on position everything will work as ogiginally designed by GM . but when you flip the switch off , you loose your spedo ,tach (if you have one ) and the govornor (speed limiter) . which will enable you to go over 94MPH .
have fun with it .
