Hey I have a 2000 Chevy that dont have a tach and im trying to wire it up and it aint working that so well. Can i have some help?:confused:

Well, you need 12 volt source, and find the tach lead on the disributor. I'm not sure which it is, all I own have 6 cyl and up.

I think you can grab the wire from behind the cluster.

At the coil or behind the cluster. Both are WHITE wires.
At the cluster plug it is Pin A3. Looking at the plug disconected from the pin side, row A is on top where the release clip is. A1 is on the left and goes across to A12. Count over 3 spots to A3. Wire should be white.

You wil prob need to set your Tach (assuming aftermarket) to the 6cyl setting.

I have a nother ? why would i need to put it on 6cyl setting?

Tach reads AC pulses. If you have a 4 cyl, you need to put it on that setting. If you have a 6cyl, then put it on that. If you have a 8cyl then....well you get the pic.



Sidenote if you have a Metro with a 3cyl.....well do you really need a tach? lol
