HA! if anything they will become more strict. you live in MO...hmmm...I'd say you might almost be able to get away with it. if you find an good ol' shop and maybe pay them off to pass you on your inspection. i wish i could take mine off too...maximus has his off and his ride sounds awesome.

just recently i heard something about mass. passing laws prohibiting after market exhaust...but i don't know what became of that...

I still have mine on. I could take it off because in KY there aren't any laws on emissions.

Emissions will be in full swing 50 state wide by 2010, by 2008 most states will have complied.
By the time this all happens the aftermarket will have cats that flow dam near what a completely freed up system will do, so no need to remove cats. As of yet the cats are 10 fold better than 10 years ago and only add up to 1/2 inch pressure in the exhaust which a bend in a pipe will do. Old School, immature thinking says otherwise, but dont be fooled by it. RIght now there is a cat out for up to 4.0 motors that flows 500 CFM, thats outstanding and carries a CARB sticker meanings ifs 100% safe for OBD2!

I couldnt just pay them off cuz in MO or at least my county the government has emissions centers that does it all and its all entered into the computer as it is being done. Back in the day my dad said you just gave the guy at the shop 10 bucks and hed pass you no matter what you were runnin. Ohh what I wouldnt give to live a couple days in the 70's. Ohh Im thinkin I might just do what my friend did for his Honda.... I know it sux... but anyways he got ,what they call around here, a test pipe. All it is is a piece of pipe that has a flange on each side and bolts in right where the cat was. He got his emissions done and passed and the next day put that test pipe on. Another friend did this too but he lives just outside of the county I live in and he doesnt have to have emissions testing. Whatever..... I just wish my truck was 26 years old cuz round these parts if its 26 years old or older your exempt.

if the truck is older than a 96 move to mid-northern new hampshire you dont need to pass any emissions. basically pay $20 and they slap on the sticker

where at in MO do you live. I live in Franklin and around here they have this gay progrma called the GATEWAY CLEAN AIR PROGRAM and its govt run. When I went to get my polates and register my truck the lady said that I have to have a franklin county emssions test done. I guess all the people around me thought that the air should be a little bit cleaner and ruined all the fun for the rest of us.

If you lived in Jefferson County, you wouldn't need emissions. I live in St. Charles county, but my dad and I have some property just northwest of Columbia in Howard County that I can register my truck at if emissions become a problem. The Gateway Clean Air project is a complete joke and its an out of state company that runs the program to top it off. I had to sell my old 84 Chevy pickup because it wouldn't pass emissions and I wasn't going to spend $500 plus to make a "non emissions" engine into one that will comply with their guidelines.

Ohh yes it is a complete joke. Its 24 bucks to get emissions done. That's rediculous. I have alot better **** to put that 24 bucks towards rather than seeing if my fart pipe spews pure co2 or not. I wish some motorhead muscle car minded governor or other top political figure would take office in missouri better off the united states and do away with emmisions. How retarded is it that some douche bag in a diesel can spew black smoke all over the place and I cant NOT have a cat on my v6 truck. If someone can explain that one to me Id appreciate it.
