Well for a while I've been looking @ baer and ssbc. But everytime i wrote ssbc about they're FX4 kit they said i could only get some green high performance pads, which i know would die when autocrossing!
So I thought I'd try one more time and this is what i got:
That kit uses pads from a 1992 Mitsubishi 300 Gt Vr4. These pads are
available in race formulations thru Hawk. The rotor and hub is a 2 piece
design with the rotor bolting onto the backside of the hub.

Well that just makes me soooo happy, because Hawk makes pads for 3000gt vr4's!!!!!

Well another thing is, the rotor is no longer part of the hub with this kit!!!!!! That was also another problem for me, when you run race pads they eat thru rotors like crazy. I was getting like 2 or 3 days of racing out of a set of rotors! :( They'd either crack or get baddly chewed up.
Some other info on the kit:
4piston calipers w/43mm pistons
2" drop spindles
13" rotors / 1.102" thick

Although the kit is 1,900 bucks. It's still alot cheaper than a kit from baer!
bear does make an autocross front brake setup for your truck. and it will not dye in autocross,,,,,however it costs 2200bux

You'll be quite happy with that set-up. I didn't realize that the pads were the same design as the Mitsu. Thanks for the info.
A few oddities I ran into with it.
The bolts that hold the two-piece rotor together didn't clear the stock ABS sensor on my 02 S-10. After talking with SSBC, they said to shave down the heads of the bolts. I think I had to take about a 1/16" off.
I had trouble finding a wheel to clear the 4-piston calipers so I ended up having one made, since I didn't want to run spacers. Here are all the dimensions of the kit if you want to see if your wheels will clear.

Hmm i see what you mean about the caliper possibly hitting the spokes of the wheel. That setup doesnt look like the 2pc rotor/hub setup he said it had

so uh, that rear kit is the one they sell for 775, but with the aluminum upgrade right?
have you put this kit on yet? does your ass go through your face when you stop? it sure looks like it will. I've been SO DAMN TEMPTED to get that setup, but you GOTTA have 18's at least for it. let me know how it works man.

Yes, I bought the rear from them also with the aluminum caliper upgrade. The braking action is strong and very controlled. It doesn't nosedive or pull. I still have a stock drivetrain so I can only take it to 94mph but they scrub off speed very quickly. I'll get in my 97 work truck afterwards and it feels like it has no brakes, it almost feels unsafe. They aren't jerky at low speeds either like when stopping in parking lots. Overall I was extremly happy with the performance and quality of the parts. And they look sweet too...

I dont think ill have any problems with the calipers clearing on these wheels. Take note to how the spokes kinda buldge out :D :D :D

Yeah, it looks like you'll have enough room on those

Thanks! Yes, they are 2 piece but they are not the style that is pictured in the first post. I think SSBC uses generic pictures on their site for some items. These have 5 large bolts that come from the backside.

It's hard to say. When i talked to SSBC they said they'll fit on some 17" wheels. I'm pretty sure they wouldn't fit on my style in a 17". I guess the best thing to do would be to print off the dimension page above and send it to the wheel manufacturer. They'll know for sure.
The dimensions I listed above were checked at least 5 times. I couldn't afford to have another set of wheels made if I screwed up a measurement, so I made sure I was thorough.

Well I think I'm just gonna go with a set of 98+ blazer brakes. I just want to do away with dam rotors with the hub built in. Such a pain to grease the dam bearing at the track when a rotor warps or cracks. :o
This season:
F
Stock 2piston blazer Calipers
Stock rotors
Hawk Blue Pads
R
LS1 Brakes
Hawk HP Plus pads

you better do a write up on how to convert the rear axle to ls1 brakes...or else. or else what? exactly...

Heh well I did the swap already. Its very easy, the only problem I see with ls1 brakes is the Ebrake. I know a few people have done the ls1 swap and I dont think anyones got the ebrake working yet :(
It's so discouraging I on the verge of swapping blazer discs in. Manual tranny without an ebrake = SUCKS
