For a 96 4.3 are they hard to install? Where exactly to the bolt on at? Im looking at one instead of two viair 450s mostly because of battery problems, plus the speed would be nice.

I thinck you have to give up your ac for the install...

No, you don't have to give up A/C although it's what most people choose to do. I got my EDC stuff in today for my 96 4.3 actually. This is the kit I ordered: http://207.97.200.166/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=432

It piggy-back's your alternator and replaces your coolant overflow with a smaller one for clearance. It retains all factory A/C accessories... although since I never use my A/C for A/C I may convert it to air. 2 EDC's and a ViAir 450c should produce enough air to have some play time.

Just for follow up on this kit I mentioned. I have a PowerMaster 200 amp alternator that has caused some clearance issues. I had to modify the bracket to accomodate the larger fan assembly on the PowerMaster alternator. I ran out of daylight today and didn't finish the install. But here is the clearance I had to do:
