i recently recieved my alternator from Iraggi Alternator ,and decided to do a review on it .
i had heard that iraggi alts were the best out there . so i decided to try one . so i contacted them . myself and Dom ( owner of iraggi alt.) went over what i needed for my truck which is a daily driver that is used for SPL comps . we talked about my audio equipment and my future plans for the truck . since it is to be a daily driver for quite some time we settled on a 260amp alternator with external voltage regulator .
within a couple weeks (due to complications from UPS) i recieved my alt . usual build time according to dom is 2 days , from that time i would allow 3-5 days for shipping depending on location .
well i got it and opened her up , very well constructed and looks similar to a stock full size GM alt ( due to the size of the alt it could not fit in a smaller case though small cases are available ) the average person could not tell the difference when installed .
installation on this unit required special brackets(included) to adapt to the mounting points for the smaller case alt . installation was simple and everything bolted up exactly how it waz supposed to . though i had to make a call to Dom to be sure since there is a lack of instructions . once bolted up it waz time to run wire . 1/0 guage wire is suggested by dom , along with upgrading the big 3 . so i used 1/0 guage wire from American Bass . (very flexible wire BTW , not as flexible as the new Kicker wire but still surprised me )with the wiring done it waz time to install the external regulator . very straight forward installation here , instructions included . the regulator was then set to charge @ 14.4 volts .

with everything installed and wired up it waz time to test . we had run a baseline result of 147.6 on the linear X metering system , with my current setup of 2-10W7s and a memphis ST1500D on the stock alt playing 40hz
with the new alternator at idle and @ 14.4 volts we burped out a 148.4 . not too bad .
we run quite a few other tests heres the results all tests were with the same equipment as the above .
14.4v @ 2000 RPM - 148.6 :voltage drop to 14.3v
15.0v @ idle - 148.7: voltage drop to 14.8v
15.0v @ 2000 RPM -148.9 : voltage drop to 14.9v
15.2v @ 2000 RPM - 149.4 :voltage drop to 15.1v

this alternator did quite a good job . i have seen other alts give out when under such conditions . where this one kept goin for another hr or 2 of testing with other amps and subs . this is by far the most SOILD alternator i have owned , while also being in the affordable bracket .
when it comes to price Iraggi alterantor wins . iraggi alts are steadily 20-50 less than the competition .

2 W7's??????? Whaaaaaaa??????????????????? WOO HOO 148 is a hell of a baseline. Nice choice on the amp too. Why not a 1501D from MTX? Hellla clean sound, heard them run some badass systems too. ANYWAY thanks for the writeup, its great info to have around.

can you get the special brackets from them or did you have to fab up your own. i'm gonna be looking for an alt but dont want to make my own brackets. but i also might not need as big of an alt as you do so do you know if the smaller cases bolt to factory holes.

i ran a 1501D from MTX for a while . distortion along with issues with settings on the amp swayed me to memphis . overall the MTX 1501D is a decent amp for the average joe . but the memphis amp puts out more power (memphis 1500D 1360ish @12.5v , MTX 1501D 1140ish @12.5v ), and has less distortion . hence the switch .

top # i put up in my truck to date , 2-memphis M3 15's ,1- JL 1000/1 ,tuned to 54ish playing 64hz ---152.3dB .

the brackets were included (edited above). this waz a BIG alt and had to be in a bigger case hence the reason for the adaptor brackets . he does have smaller case alts that do not require special brackets though . it all depends on how big of an alt you get .

I am glad you at least tried it. We pushed a nasty little system with a 1501D runnin 2 subs (not near as big as a w7) and an 801D on the mids and highs. It ran up to about 148-9ish. We didnt really get too much distortion though. Hmm. Is the 1500D the memphis belle? or is it bigger than that. THe car audio store I worked/work in (some weekends) carries mtx, memphis, and rockford crapgate. I have alwasy had a hardon for MTX amps and with a 325xw and a 10w3 DV4 and a 1cu/ft+ box I ran it up to 138.4 db before I smoked the voicecoil

no prob blazen .......

the memphis bell is model # 16MC1300 , what i have is an older version of 16MC1500 the actual model on my amp is 15ST1500 .
the memphis bell is basically the 300/4 and the 1000D in the same case .

doesnt memphis have a name for the amp you have (the new version) i know there is the baby belle, the memphis belle, and something else but I dont rember ( you will have to forgive me, we wernt really tring to move memphis, we made more proffit on the MTX)

no it doesent have a specific name . most people refer to it as the 1500D .

i would suggest pushing the memphis subs . the M3 line is almost indestructable . that will net you less returns and less service issues .

Well, I killed my w3 and went to a mempis sub, but in a sealed box, it sounded like ****. so I got a set of JL w0's to hold me over till i can find a w3 or something comparable to replace it. Im not too crazy about memphis subs. Their speakers KICK SERIOUS ASS though. If i could afford them, i would have them in.

compared to JL subs they sound like crap . but how many people do you have come in and say "i want the best sounding subs i can get " prolly not many . you probably have people come in and say " whats the loudest subs i can get " which question they ask will tell you wheither they want JL or memphis .
i consider JL a finess sub . you cant really beat on them , and they arent really meant to be loud . where as memphis is built to beat on and in meant to get loud .
we use memphis subs exclusively in all of our SPl competition cars . and we always do well with them . out of the 3 cars we had this year that were qualified for finals . mine took 2nd in its class . another car took 4th in its class , and another would have won its class had he not been in finantial trouble .

his prices start at 200 and depending on the vehicle and options can reach as high as 800 .
my specific one cost me 520 after shipping cost . the external voltage regulator waz 100 bux so the actual cost of the alternator and brackets waz 390 . had it been for a 4.3l it would have been 50 bux less also .
