Seems like he's been the pope most of my adult life. Being a holocaust survivor made him somewhat of an enigma. But he did a fantastic job of bridging historical differences w/o choosing sides.

A sad day for Catholics and the world at large.

My deepest prayers go out to him. I actually had the privelidge to see him last year in
Rome, a memory I will always remember.

he was extremely intelligent...spoken pretty much all the languages. he was from Wadowice...pronounced Vah-doh-vee-Chee

Yeah it is sad that the pope of chicken, Frank Purdue has passed on! What he did for chicken was unbelievable!

mmm. he was a strong moral man. Unlike todays political figureheads, he was not swayed but current events/political ties, and always strongly spoke out against anything he believed was wrong. He will surely be missed

And his true name was Karol Woteika ( pronounced Carl Wo-teek-a)
